Can you remind me why Fiora is badly designed?

Most people say that she is "Feast or Famine" and that is a bad design.

But that Philosophy literally translates into

#"If you do well enough, you become a nightmare to deal with" #"If you don't, you are nothing more than Glass, waiting to be smashed."

Isn't that exactly what is supposed to happen? I've been playing this game since 2011.

I always believed if you do well enough with something, you should become so strong the enemy simply can't deal with you anymore. And if you didn't do well, you are literally a burden for your team to carry.

#The "Either you have fun or the enemy has fun" excuse is a somewhat valid excuse, but then you can't really explain how Nidalee still manages to be in the game, considering she is EPITOME of this, no matter how strong or weak she is.

Because players go up against her without using:

  • Snares
  • Stuns
  • Roots
  • Binds
  • Polymorphs
  • Knock-Ups
  • Knock-Downs
  • Knock-Backs
  • Suppresses
  • Silences
  • Entangles
  • Blinds
  • Fears
  • Untargetability
  • Invulnerabilities
  • Dodges
  • Invisibility
  • Taunts

Then they fail to exploit the bush mechanics that makes her ultimate less useful, then they build little to no armor and get bursted down, she snowballs and they complain about it on the forums.

Incorrect. A 0-5 Orianna with 4 items late game is way more useful than a 0-5 Fiora with 4 items late game.

That's why utility mids were the shit in season 4. Xerath Orianna Ziggs Lulu Gragas won games with their utlity even if they were feeding.

mainly, because she doesnt live up to her theme.

shes not a melee carry, nor a duellist. shes more like an assassin without escape. go in, blow all your cooldowns and hope your target dies before he can react.

the rework they had planned for her was supposed to make her more like yasuo. mobile, with a lot of outplay potential, but mechaniclly intense.

actually its not exactly 'Feast or Famine'. If you spend enough time farming you should be able to catch up fairly quickly.
