It is the same insane behaviour i see everywhere in our age: instead of improving our protection vs threats, let us just remove all threats and be defenceless. And then be f*cked the moment any outside threat wanders in.

The difference is that I can press a button to render myself completely immune to trash-talking from a player (i.e. Mute).

If there was a simple, instantaneous way to render one-self immune to Assault Rifle which could be used at any time, then your comparison would be slightly less idiotic.

Assualt rifles have been banned in most states for years, an AR-15 is not an assualt rifle

Honestly I have no clue what you are saying but your analogy is awful. Trash talking is something that can be stopped and regulated, assault rifles are a COMPLETELY different real world thing that have many more consequences than trash talk.
