I wish I saw Yasuo MORE!!! (Beating Yasuo Strat's)

Now, as the title says, I wish** I** (emphasis on the I part) saw him more, in the mid lane. People play him so much and I've seen him so much that I pretty much have a solid strategy to play against him. Yes, i agree completely with you all, Yasuo is broken. But so useless if he falls behind.

I'll give you my little game-play strategy. (NOTE: this is a lower elo, Bronze to Gold, strategy, just a heads up) Screenshot of some proof using this strategy

  1. Pick this guy Xerath Now, I know what your thinking, Just hear me out now.

  2. Level 1 - 3, play passive. farm, poke with the range to stop his shield from filling, SAVE MANA. (The passive helps with this)

  3. at level 4, have 2 points in Q. play a little aggressive while charging it up. also never use your E(Stun) offensively only defensively (for now) - Now this is the important part, (if he hasn't already done it). If he throws out the windwall, DO NOT ATTACK HIM, Xeraths Q is not, I repeat, NOT, blocked by windwall. Neither is his W or Ult. So if he throws out the wind wall, he doesn't know that. And we don't want him to know this yet.

  4. level 5, now you can start to poke him with your Q. Most (if not all) Yasuo's I've played are super confused about how i hit them, and didn't get blocked by the wind wall. and start acting more aggressive.

  5. So if you make it to this point, at level 6, play right inside the range of the turret. Now , like it was written in the, "(How to play Yasuo - Guide to free elo, Wood V - Gold 1 edition)" he will throw his tornado at you, AND YOU WILL LET IT HIT, he will then ult, (it will do about half of your health, so be careful, Taking summoner 7 really helps)

  6. Combo him, (E, Q, W is what i use) plus two turret shots. if you have poked him down at least 3/4 health, he will be really low, (If not dead). that's when you use your ult, it will usually take 1 shot to finish him off, maybe two.
The combo at level 6 usually is mana costly, that's why playing passively up to that point is important

  7. Push up, back and buy, item 3108 item 1001 , some item 2003 and a item 2043 (BUY WARDS!!!!) (This is minimum depending on your CS, get more if you can.)

  8. Ask the jungler to gank when Yasuo pushed the lane when he returns, (again written in the, "How to play Yasuo - Guide to free elo, Wood V - Gold 1 edition". Because he will push. If you kill him, congratulations, unless some one feeds Yasuo a kill or two, you now don't have to worry about him any more. and you're on your way to being fed and carrying the game.

Now i know that stuff happens in lane sometimes, and this won't always work. But i can say in experience, it works about 70% of the time. Because most people don't know how Xerath's kit works, it works pretty well.

This is my strategy, meaning that it works for me, it might not work for everyone.

just trying to help some people out.. If i help one person, then I've done my job. Have a solid day :D

Xerath is my main, and it's always fun to go against a Yasuo (that is unless he massively outskills me). It's always so funny to see them try and block your Q (then again it could be because I'm a good Xerath. I have made a Zed buy MR boots against me, having forced him to back several times before 6. That's something that doesn't usually happen: an immobile mana based champ forcing a AD high mobility nearly resourceless champion to back)

Just a point: if he uses his windwall, and you have an opportunity to stun him, DO THAT. Your basic combo (E, queue W, Q) will deal a whole heap of damage to him

I try if there's an opening. If not, i'd rather not have it backfire on me just for a little extra poke on him.

It's even funnier when the keep trying to block it.

Also some tips on the build: you want that mana regen item fast (although personally I recommend Athene's unless you are against a completely 100% AD team. That bit of MR is scores better then the extra AP or the grievous wounds, especially considering that AD has the better option for that now), and then the first big AP item you want is Luden's. Once you get that, your power goes up insanely, as you have the poke to keep the procs going. Next I prefer either Void Staff or Zhyona's, depending on what you need more, and then the other after that. The last item I usually get is a Deathcap, for the extra late game damages. Grab Sorc boots somewhere during that, and you will be doing a ton of damage to pretty much everything, especially because at our ELO, nearly no one except tanks build MR, relying on the support to build a locket

I usually build Athene's vs AP mids, but i'll take Morello vs AD mids. I tend to buy Rylai's 2nd if i have a lead. the slow is amazing with spell ranges, also if you hit your first ult shot, you'll hit them all. Obviously the build will differ from game to game. Thanks for the advice though :)

Yasuo is still highly cancerous and not even fun to play against when 0/10 tho [zombie-nunu-tears]

100% agree, but at least he'll be slightly less annoying now

That was basically a Bronze Yasuo who never plays Yasuo, of course he's going to feed.

Maybe this game, but it has worked other times. i wouldn't write this if i thought this was a one off.

Xerath vs Yasuo works only in low elo, if Yasuo knows how to play, your ass will bleed.

You can beat yasuo as anyone except adcs, adcs would have to be fed/farmed up to compete with yasuo

He's easy to beat as a non-adc.
