It's cool if you don't chose a champ during this stage or just joke around and all 5 people chose the same champ. But don't flame me if i accidentally ban your champ. Because how was I suppose to know that you wanted to play 
top. We have this option for a reason, use it, please and thank you.

Alright, but if I do use it, and I'm first/second pick, don't ban the champ I want to use. Especially if it is just to spite me.
Or if people can quit banning each other's pick intents...
Then that's when people will actually start using pick intent for reals.
pick intent is so stupid to use. When its your time to actually pick you ensure the enemy team knows what lane you're going right away. Say you are first pick going support, you pick sona to start but then decide on annie when the real picking happens. So the other team sees sona, then annie. they realize you are going support and you lose all chance of faking being mid and giving the real mid a chance at counterpicking later on. Theres alot of champions that can do multiple roles and that makes for alot of situations where this tactic can be used.** do not use pick intent.**

It makes sense to a normal person like you OP, cause youre normal. Some people in the world though, are childish idiots, stupid as hell, and think others have their same way of ignorant thinking.

So I know youre trying to reach out and "help" stupid people, but you cant... theyre stupid. The only way to protect them from themselves is to do it for them. Stupid people exist; statistically half the population is below average intelligence... Half above, half below, thats how an average works... Theyre everywhere, and obviously theyre in this game, and they of course use pick intent wrong. Why? Cause they are stupid.

I like when people flame in chat so some bans the champ they wanted. More flame and a lot of laughs.
You see, it's the exact opposite; threats like these encourage me NOT to use pick intent. If people know who I want to use, $50 says that a majority of the people I'm matched with who have the power to ban will troll me and ban the very same champion I chose in the pick intent phase. So yes, I will continue to "choose" my Urgot ADC, LeBlanc Support, Aatrox Mid, etc. until I see improvement in the community. In other words, never ;)
While I agree with you on this, people should be using the system and have no right to complain when they don't tell you what they want to play.
Some people are not using it because they are getting harassed in champion select for using it by the people banning champions. The banners will specifically ban champions that people want to play for the reason of "Lol I don't want you to play that champion".
It's a pity really how certain human beings ruin an experience for everyone else to the point where some people don't use it.
*Also minor point, enemies can still see pick intent so people may not be using it til Riot fixes the coding on it (which they announced they were working on). Not really game changing in any way unless you are playing with friends and have large enough champion pools to take contested picks and swap later.
This is too real. As someone who plays top and jungle almost exclusively the team needs to know I plan on going Darius/Gangplank top or I'm going to be in a rough patch real fast.

Sometimes I ban the champion I pick intent and flame my team, then I pretend to realize that I made a mistake. I usually get some "LMAOOOO"s or "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL"
I'll take my chances not picking a champ during pick intent.
It's not a great system.
Honestly I don't sometimes simply because people are jerks and will ban it just because of that. Especially if I play Teemo, I've just vowed never to set my pick intent as him, because more people are willing to ban him for me wanting to pick him than just because they don't like him/had a bad last game.
