What's good on Sejuani post 4.21?
My main questions are: is Liandry's still an item she needs? How much health should you build on her vs defenses? Are mana problems still a thing?
So typically I figure you want to build sejuani as 4 tank items, boots, and a damage item.
Her most important stats are probably (in order):
Health Defenses CDR Mana AP/Magic Pen
Imagine we're in a game that's got pretty balanced teams on both sides. Good mix of mobility, tankiness, both kinds of damage, essentially no champs or combos of champs you'd want to merit an entire item slot to. We'll likely want a mix of tankiness and damage, with more emphasis on the tank and taking the damage as a bonus.
Your tank items (Sunfire
, Randuins
, Banshee's
) take care of health and defenses. Items like Iceborn
and Frozen heart
give you CDR and Mana. IBG even gives you some AP. Spirit visage's
passive isn't super useful on her unless you're taking purple smite
, as it does help you recover hp faster in the jungle, but more importantly gives you 10% cdr. Green enchantment
for your jungle item is where you want to be, and that gives you some tenacity.
I'd imagine purple smite is still the best smite on sejuani, with blue smite in second. Green enchant is best for her, with blue in second. Let's say for this case we build purple smite for faster clears and since we have a gap closer and a slow and a long range stun, blue smite seems redundant. Our AP ratios aren't good enough to merit blue enchant (save ultimate), and W scales with total health, so green enchant seems best here. Let's pick that up.
Once you have your jungle item, you'll want to pick up a sunfire I imagine. Clear camps faster, and synergizes with your w. I'll get to boots in a minute. Of course, to make sure they stay in range, let's grab some CC, damage, mana, and CDR in iceborn gauntlet. An early glacial shroud can help with mana problems. (Does she even have mana problems now?). Frozen heart seems overkill on the armor, and I think it'd be better to throw in the extra damage and CC there.
Say they're a mixed damage team (AP mid, jungle, support, ADC and AD top for example), so we should pick up some MR. We don't need Tenacity through Merc treads, so they're an ineffecient purchase. All boots choices seem good for her here (save zerkers). (help me out here) We'll come back to this.
Anyway we can grab a spirit visage/banshee's veil, depending on personal preference. I like CDR on her (more spellblade procs) so let's snag the visage.
So far we have purple smite/green enchant, Sunfire, Visage, Iceborn, and boots of some kind. We have a good amount of health from sunfire and visage and green enchantment, but we have a lot more armor than MR, and the enemy team is balanced on both sides of damage.
I feel like abyssal scepter would be good here. Amplify your team's damage along with your own, and you'll be up close and personal almost all the time, able to hit that range. It gives us more MR and adds a little more damage to our team.
To add to the damage and keep armor and MR balanced, why not pick up a pair of sorcerer's boots?
But looking back on this build, something seems... off. Maybe I feel like she needs more health. Maybe we should get a Liandry's for more damage. What would be replaced, whats bad here, and how do we make up for the other stats we miss out on? I can see lots of arguments for why individual items are really good on her (like randuins, frozen heart, liandry's, ninja tabi, Ionian boots, mobi boots, boots of swiftness, banshee's, blue smite, rylai's) but I'm having trouble seeing how the items could work together. Liandry's loves more CC, but doesn't stack, making multiple DOT abilites kind of eh, and is also mostly for shredding tanks. Iceborn likes low cooldowns and being close enough to autoattack. Sunfire likes to be close, visiage likes self-healing, abyssal likes teammates that do magic damage, you get the idea.
Somebody argue with me. What's good here? What's bad?
(I got lazy and stopped inserting items halfway through sorry)

CORE then you can either do

OR
or a mix of both. it's based on the game and what you feel like you need more of

and
.
is better than
lategame.
