Isn't Karma just kind of a worse version of Lulu?

Shield, speed-up, slowing skillshot, vision abilities, and they kinda fill the same roles. Major difference is that Lulu has a pretty impactful ult with a long cooldown while karma doesn't. Lulu also has an instant polymorph (compared to karma's tether snare, which also is shorter than the polymorph). Karma can sometimes have an aoe slow, and lulu can sometimes use pix to make hitting her slow easier.

I feel like Lulu just has more utility, especially after level 6. Their slows/nukes have almost identical numbers. Lulu can still be a big lane bully with her passive compared to karma sometimes getting her empowered q. She rarely gets the bonus aoe damage unless she w's them, ultimates, then hits her q, which ends up costing her a pretty big chunk of mana.

I guess my real question is why would players have a reason to pick up Karma over Lulu (or if you disagree that Lulu is better, since their pick and win rates are pretty close with Lulu being slightly better, Lulu over Karma). They just seem to fill very very similar roles and have really similar numbers.
