How accurate is normal game MMR to ranked skill level ?

I will be going into ranked soon. (this isnt my first account, my first had bad mmr and had not been played in years) Just recently got back into it after watching some youtube Pro coaching /diamond gameplay ect. I played about 120 normal games and am exactly 50%. I looked up my current mmr and its at 1369. I know that its normal games and people mess around i lost a few games trying out champs as well. But is there a ball park rank? Like for example Im better then silver 5 but not gold? I just dont wanna be too bummed out if i get placed in silver 1 and lose a bunch in a row.

I dont look at my mmr. Normals are much different than ranked, for multiple reasons.... even if you are better than average, you could end up being dropped down into bronze simply because of trolls in your first 10 games and afkers etc.

Mmr =/= skill. It can give a decent base line but i beat people who have better mmr and lose against some with lower mmr than me.

I'ma be honest: Normals do no reflect overall skill at all. Use normals to practice, not to judge.

Anyone that spews nonsense about norms mmr is just compensating for their ranked anxiety.

Ranked is not even a very good judge. Its very basic. Also it depends on where you find your mmr..... i googled to find my mmr for ranked and normals both. My mmr is different varied on the places, and some say im low silver. Some say im low gold. In ranked, rank flex, and normals.

Mmr means practically nothing apart from a VERY basic judge of skill. And even then it depends on who you ask.

Theres diamonds and plats that play like they are bronze. Sometimes its because they are out of their main role and champion..... but that extends only so far.

The macro and micro gameplay, with wave management, which objectives to focus, and just general knowledge of champions and what they do.... theres quite some lack in higher ranks sometimes.

They also tend to have no clue what to do if they are behind.

And this is where we've become fully delusional.

You can't make some broad claim about high elo play at Silver 1, man.

I don't have ranked anxiety, I just play the game for fun, and judging by all these posts, ranked is full of trolls and afk'ers, so normal is the way to go, also I wont get flamed as hard for trying something off meta like ap ezreal mid. because you know, videogames are meant for fun :D. also I never was a super competitive guy :/

Then don't make any claims about how good/bad you are and your fine.

And you'll still get flamed for playing something stupid in norms. Like, I don't know what server you're playing on where you'd NOT get flamed for playing something stupid in any game mode, save URF.

Normals don't count anyways. accuracy isn't needed.

At 0 promo games, your MMR will be the equivalent of silver 4. If you win 5 and lose 5, assuming the wins have the same average value as the losses, you will place in silver 4.

Can not really judge normal mmr the same as ranked mmr. 1360's is something like silver i believe. Ranked silver match making is a crap shoot though, you can get people who play at bronze level to platinum level due to a large amount of smurf accounts, boosters getting players to gold for rewards at season end and people playing provisional games. Its really messy in sliver as that is where the majority of the player base resides in.
