10 Bans
A little backstory for the uninitiated.
Over the course of several years and new champion releases, the Champion Roster has increased and gotten to be really big.
With this in mind, players were concerned that the current amount of bans were not enough to keep up with the growing roster.
So after many many many opinions and many more champions released, Riot finally listened and decided 10 bans was a good idea.
So what was the next step in their master plan?
Implement it in Pro-play.
Okay, fine whatever, it's a good idea to test it right? The live client will get it soon right? Sure, that's fine, no problem.
Time passes on and Riot finally delivers...a statement that 10 bans will come live...soon. Don't know how soon, but it will come.
More time passes and they finally decide, it will come patch 7.11! HOORAY!
But before this, they show how it will go about. People aren't happy, duplicated bans, and a possibility for 5 bans total instead of the regular 6 or even the intended 10.
Fuck it, we will see how it goes, whatever, Riot always has their reasons.
So I go to play today, excited, finally,
will forever stop being in my games. Finally, peace at last.
I open up the client, first thing that I read..."10 BANS LIVE IN NORMAL DRAFT!"
WHAT THE LIVING HELL!
Now this is the one thing I can't handle. Everything before was alright. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me over the course of about 2 maybe 3 seasons...come on now.
What is it really? Scared to admit certain champs are cancer? What is it?
This has blue balled me for too long now.
Admit it, some champions are just unanimously unfun to play against and completely angering. We all know who these are.
Here's my 2 cents. Sports have illegal substances, card games have ban lists (because of OP cards and "strategies"), work places have rules and regulations when on the clock. But let's look at this from 2 perspectives, namely, an amateur setting and a professional setting.
Amateur Sports (preferably any sort of street ball or pick up games at public parks) don't care much about these illegal substances because they are not professional and aren't gaining anything out of this but fun for themselves. Who cares, it's just a "normal" game, play how you want and with what you want.
Card games have their own professional settings, and these settings have their own forbidden cards because some are too powerful, but guess what, they exist. They are banned yes, but no one is stopping you from using these cards in a "normal" game with your friends from school.
Work places have certain policies, dress codes maybe, don't show up drunk or on any kind of drug. But real life, a "normal" setting, doesn't. Go out and get drunk and shitfaced with whatever your poison is, just don't forget to turn the gears I pay you to turn when the time comes.
Same with league, we have a normal setting and ranked setting for a reason. And yes, I assume some will get angry at the whole "it's normals haha" argument, but it has come to that point with riot and their banning system. I play ranked because it is really the only thing I can feel the least obligated to win. I don't want to go into a game and just play and relax, no I need a bigger incentive. A penalty if i lose and a reward if I win. That's what ranked does for me. If I do want to relax, i play normals and afk nasus top. Nothing more relaxing in this game honestly. But sometimes, playing games involves having to go up against abused champions which yields boredom and/or frustration. "Oh look, I'm up against a Caitlyn, whoo hoo...>.>" Or "Oh look a lee sin, that's alright I'll just kill him earl....He just ward hopped over the wall, that's fine I have a hop too...he just kicked me away...That's fine I have flash up, he's dead for sure now...his W is up again...."
So why does Riot keep avoiding a complete 10 ban system? By this time, only two options come to mind.
Just straight up forbid cancer champions IN RANKED ONLY for good and keep the 6 bans (if anything) or JUST LET US HAVE 10 BANS ALREADY. What's so hard about letting one team ban all at once, showing it to everyone. Then letting the other team ban 5 more. Not so hard. 30 seconds total each side to account for laggers.
tl;dr Stop teasing the 10 bans and let us have them. Admit it, some champions are mistakes.
