10 Bans When? Who would you ban?

PrismalDawn··20 votes·7,074 views

Right now, champion banning is only determined by 3 people of the 5 in a team. There are 134 champions and only 6 bans. So what, only 4% of the champions not allowed? Whatta hell. Wouldn't it be better if each person could ban one champion that either they hate or don't want to lane against?

Also if there were 10 bans, here would be my preferred bans. Caitlyn - Stupid ass range, the traps are ridiculous and her passive is free damage for whatever reason Darius - Just annoying overall, would rather not deal with. Ezreal - One of those if on your team they do nothing, on enemy team they are gods paradoxes. Irelia - Broken champion, build armor you're fucked, build health you're fucked, build tenacity, you're out Riven - Another paradox, feeds if on your team, does otherwise if on the enemy team. Also retarded kit, an AD scaling shield, numerous dashes, hard CC, if you beat her she leaves, if you don't, she chases you no problem. Yasuo - Paradox champion. LeeSin - Overloaded kit, just delete him already. Thresh - Overloaded, don't delete, just take away some cc. Camille - Overloaded, stop the scaling with on hit effects on the true damage. Alistar - Couldn't think of any other champion so the cow gets it.

10 bans when Rito?

Ban Yasuo untill 100% ban rate so that maybe you guys have mercy and rework him ?

And the answer to the question....?

The game is loaded with champions and underloaded with champion bans. This is an issue, and we would appreciate an answer as to when this will be implemented.

Nameless Voice5 votes

They've answered this question before.

Basically, it's a feature that will only work in the new client, so it won't be implemented until the new client is out of beta and no one is using the legacy client any more.

A nice post explaining it here, with links to appropriate Riot sources: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/xcc2FjTP-reminder-why-we-dont-have-10-bans-yet-despite-promises

Martensitic3 votes

Despite your the oh so helpful fanboi service, that is no answer to the question asked.

The question was:

#WHEN

That is a specific question, to which an unspecific, vague answer like "sometime after the new client is out of beta, whenever that may be" is entirely unsatisfactory. Its a disgrace.

Especially when you keep in mind that the very boards we are writing on are still "Beta". How long was it since the were released? Two years? Three?:

https://s30.postimg.org/v6am0e1oh/stillbeta.jpg

So next time, maybe a little less fanboism and a little more attention to the actual questions asked by the community. The same advice goes towards riot, who seem to enjoy basking in the laurels of a mass of obedient yesmen much more, than answering the questions of people who actually care about the development of the game.

You will of course downvote this comment, to satisfy your Ego. I understand. Be advised however, that this doesn't prove me wrong, nor does it make you more credible. It just shows how small said Ego is.

Geez man, you don't have to be a dick about it.

Why not?

The friendly way gets shouted down by the brainwashed fanbois, so they are going to learn it the hard way. Thanks for the downvote btw. just proves my point =)

The Boards are supposed to be a place for polite discussion and you're spitting in the face of that by being a dick to many other users in your posts with your sarcastic, caustic, and antagonistic tone. You don't need to be mean to make a point, so stop trying to make people feel bad. I'm glad that people like you are a minority on the Boards, or otherwise this place would be absolutely unbearable. Everyone would be insulting everyone, and no productive discussion would occur. It's actually annoying to see people like you. I log in to read discussion, maybe post, and then while I'm reading I see this crap. I don't want to read vitriol like that. I shouldn't feel vexed while reading the Boards, but because of people like you, I am, which is annoying.

Downvotes are used to hide posts that don't contribute to discussion, not for posts that people don't agree with. None of your posts are contributing to discussion (nor are they agreeable), so the downvotes are understandable.

As opposed to you, shining example of friendly conversation that you are, shouting down and downvoting anyone who doesn't share the "Riot is always right" mindset.

The next part is important, I suggest reading it twice: I don't care if people feel annoyed. The enjoyment of random people on the internet is not even a tertiary objective on my list.

And yes, I am part of a minority, and proud of it. Because it means I am part of those people who are capable of critical thinking and finding flaws, and having the mental fortitude to lay them out in the open, even against the opposition of the "All is well don't tread on my cozy point of view" crowd of fanboying drones.

Just because you are part of a majority, doesn't give you credibility. Argumentum ad populum is still a hillariously unfit replacement for an actual argument.

And if you don't want to read what I write, there is a very simple solution: Close the browser window. Because I am not going to go away, nor am I gonna change because you would like it.

I have friendly conversations with people who are being reasonable. I don't downvote everyone that attacks Riot. I'll downvote when I see a post that doesn't contribute to discussion.

The next part is important, I suggest reading it twice: I don't care if people feel annoyed. The enjoyment of random people on the internet is not even a tertiary objective on my list.

And that kind of selfish attitude is what makes order crumble. If everyone had a mentality like that, conversation would be unbearable. You're taking for granted the fact that everyone else is for the most part not being a jerk. What if every person acted similarly to you but retained his or her opinions? The internet would be a cesspool. If you say that the internet is already a cesspool, than you can't even imagine what it would be like if everyone acted in your manner. Acting in the public interest is what keeps everything going. Start doing it and remove yourself from the problem.

And yes, I am part of a minority, and proud of it. No, you're not a critical thinker, you're just critical. If you were a critical thinker, you'd realize how irrational you are being when you say, "I don't care if people feel annoyed." Critical thinkers don't need to be characterized by truculence.

Just because you are part of a majority, doesn't give you credibility. Argumentum ad populum is still a hillariously unfit replacement for an actual argument.

I agree, the majority isn't always right. I haven't implied otherwise.

And if you don't want to read what I write, there is a very simple solution: Close the browser window. Because I am not going to go away, nor am I gonna change because you would like it.

As I said earlier, your selfish attitude is fortunately a minority one. It's unfortunate that you're too stubborn to change and make that minority even smaller.

The best thing about your lengthy post is that I didn't even bother to read it, because it will just include more insults and not anything that should concern me.

Glad you wasted the time writing it.

I mean, we have a history of them not delivering things. Still waiting for the return of the tribunal.

Blackstone012 votes

And don't forget last season's continual soloq delay into being scrapped into being brought back this season.

Fondling Gems2 votes

"The community overwhelmingly votes to punish homophobic slurs in the tribunal"

I cry every time I see this.

Really though Riot have been very good lately about communicating with players and delivering on their promises.

BastionKross5 votes

The client will probably be forced out of beta sooner rather than later. (And no not soon as in Riot soon, soon as in normal soon) Riot won't tolerate players being able to use two clients to log in for very long because it makes the game look like a two-bit operation. So I expect the new client comes out of beta just as the old one disappears in the near future.

Now, whether or not Riot actually comes through on those ten bans at that time is a separate matter completely. I've been around long enough to have heard Riot's lies too. I remember the tribunal returning , soloQ coming back in season 6, promises to ensure Morde wouldn't fall into a rusty pile of scraps after his rework, and those are just the broken promises of recent memory.

Do I think there will be ten bans? I'd give it a 50/50 at best. More realistically a 40/60 in favor of "no". Riot has a history of protecting and favoring certain champions, and those would be the the first ones to go permaban status after the obvious balance nightmares get their bans.

Martensitic2 votes

"Probably" and "Soon" are the words that will make everyone who is remotely familiar with how Rito handles these things cringe.

Papa Andrei2 votes

Meddler stated the new client will be out of beta January-February and 10 bans soon after that. Along with other features. Make sure you do your research before you go keyboard warrior

Martensitic1 votes

They also stated that SoloQ would come one month after Dynamic queue (In season 6)

That's how much I trust such statements.

Fanbois and their selective memory...

No Leblanc or Hecarim? Iunno about this list.

it's the butthurt list, no real logic, they just can't beat the champions so they ban them.

Papa Andrei1 votes

Like seriousky, Thresh? He isn't even close to being Overloaded.

Fondling Gems1 votes

I dunno, I would venture to say his kit is a bit overloaded but he is balanced despite that. When you look at the number of things he can do he is pretty crazy. Infinite stacking AP and Armour, A stun/2 part displacement/dash, A ranged aoe shield that doubles as an ally targeted dash and is infinitely scaling, an aoe knockback in any direction regardless of your position in relation to them, a wall that applies a massive slow multiple times and does a ton of damage on the first instance of it?

He is pretty overloaded, however his kit is very much balanced around that so it isn't that big of an issue.

Papa Andrei1 votes

He is the epitemy of an engage support though, Good reliable cc, multi cc, slows, bit more than soraka damage. and allows another team mate to engage with him.

BUT, his number are balanced to allow him to do such things.

When u implement 10-bans will we need more champs to be able to play ranked? If so would that make league even bigger IP grind frustration then it is now?

Glory ln Death2 votes

That's one of the things they'll have to look at to determine how to implement 10 bans.

Yasuo i won't ban him, there are way more overpowered champ i'm busy with i don't have time to ban yasuo because he's frustrating

Katarina Leblanc LeeSin Vi Hecarim Caitlyn Vayne Ryze can all say goodbye, half of them won't be in my games anymore

YES! THE ONE PERSON THAT LISTENS TO MY SUMMONER NAME!

EndlessSorcerer8 votes

Yasuo

Banning out a popular, one-trick-pony champion? Check.

Tilting a potentially toxic opponent from champion select? Check.

Not having to deal with Windwall negating projectiles (i.e. ADC, engage/picks dependent on skillshots)? Check.

Sonasaurous4 votes

Right now If could ban 10 champions every game it would be Yasuo because playing against him is the least amount of fun anyone could have LeeSin because playing against him is unfun Vi because she tilts my life Hecarim because fuck him Jhin because I'm tired of seeing him every single game Illaoi because I hate playing against her Camille until she's nerfed because HO LEE SHIT Vayne because it doesn't seem to matter if you camp her all game, she'll never become irrelevant for some reason Rengar because I like not getting raped repeatedly Veigar because fuck this little piece of shit

but granted, I'm bronze as shit, so my opinion is invalid.

DunkinNoobs3 votes

How to tell if someone is a noob: Ask them which of these champs they'd leave open if they have 3 bansYasuo Leblanc Ivern Poppy

Maximum Morde1 votes

If I'm the top laner I'd leave poppy open. If I'm not the top laner but someone on my team is indicating they want to play Yasuo, I'd leave Leblanc open. In most other cases I'd leave Yasuo open :)

DunkinNoobs4 votes

At least you're not the monkey that doesn't ban Ivern.

Papa Andrei1 votes

Ivern is seriously busted in TT, he can singlehandidly win a game

Corriandr2 votes

If I HAD to pick one of these four to leave open? Yasuo. He's annoying to lane against, yes, but can be dealt with. Those other three? Nope. I do ban Yas often, but simple because I see him way too much and want to see something different, kinda like why I hate Lee.

Linna Excel2 votes

You guys know if there's 10 bans, you are still only getting one choice.

So I'd ban Blitzcrank when I was planning on playing soraka.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Ignoring some temporary balance fluctuations which i expect to be dealt with next patch and in no particular order.

Rengar Zed Vayne LeeSin Yasuo Fizz Leblanc Khazix Ivern Caitlyn

AirKingNeo1 votes

Wait but Zed isn't even strong right now. He's actually weak.

AMYS GRAVE2 votes

That's very true but i don't play mid and can't trust my team not to feed him. Also his kit is built around being able to outplay whoever he is playing against and he almost always has the tools to get out of sticky situations ahead. Its not a strength thing but his kit that draws the ban, see a few months ago when zed had an 85+% ban rate in plat+ with a pretty mediocre win rate.
