What is the major difference between Platinum and Diamond players?

Hi! I recently got plat for the first time and I hope that I can climb higher in Plat. Pretty much I'm asking for info as to what I need to do/work on in order to progress from a plat player to a diamond player (hopefully). I'm not asking about my skills/gameplay in particular. I'm asking what plat players in general lack compared to diamond players. Thanks!

Well from a bronze perspective, Diamond players are more fun to get smurfed by, plat smurfs are usually toxic.

Team fights are a bit more organized - people take advantage of winning team fights more and get objectives over backing for little/no reason - and far less mistakes.

In plat some times we would win a team fight and I'd be pinging like crazy on the enemy nexus because I knew we had time to end but half the team would recall while the AP's would push with me.

In higher plat people started to realize that 40 seconds is enough time to end when you win a team fight near their inhibitor tower with minions 5 secs away.

from what I've heard, it's simply less mistakes. it's the same as bronze to silver, or silver to gold, or even gold to plat. it's just less mistakes and overall improvement.

From my limited experience with people in diamond and higher, things generally aren't so personal. Everything is literally about winning the game and your outside problems do not matter. On the other hand, they also tend to be some of the rudest players I've ever met.
