LoL client constantly freezing as the nexus explodes

Almost 60% of the time I play league the client freezes as the nexus explodes. Sometimes I can alt tab and force close the client, but sometimes I literally have to restart my computer just to get out the frozen client. It is ridiculously annoying. Anyone else have this problem?
