Disallow Parties of Four in Ranked.

This is a pretty straightforward request, but I think that 4 man parties should not be allowed to play ranked. There are a few reasons behind it.

  1. It is unpleasant to be the one solo player left out of a 4 man group, even when that group has good intentions. They often communicate only with each other and leave you out of the loop on every play, thus you have to spend time guessing what they are doing without ever getting information. Duos and Trios will still communicate with other people, but groups of 4 tend to assume the 5th will fall in line.

  2. Four man queues have too strong of an influence on the game. If you are a solo player and you have two duo queues with you, they can balance each other out, i.e. you could get a good one and a bad one, placing yourself on an "even" playing field. But with a 4 queue, decisions made by the group vastly outweigh your own. If they want to do baron, they are doing baron. If they want to go mid, they are going mid. And you can't really stop them, since they seldom take the solo into account in their decision making.

Worse is that their attitude/goals can be united and in conflict with the solo queues goals, leaving them helpless. I.E. The 4-queue might just want to troll in ranked, or they may want to run silly comps, or they might decide as a group to not use voice chat or any other advantages. Their group decisions hugely impact the game to the point where skill is unaccounted for.

  1. 4-queuing is an innately toxic act. It deliberately says "we want one person to be excluded from our group". It ensures that there will be an odd man out every game they play. This is fine for normal games, but for ranked, it has too high of an impact. Riot has already acknowledged that 4-queues are "more toxic than they would like"-- however, it's not just a measurable/numbers thing. It is an absolute. 4 queues are by their own nature toxic as they isolate and create a gap.

While duos/trios can be frustrating, they do not leave a person entirely alone.

Riot needs to stop dicking around and release that solo que option already. I absolutely can't stand 4 man ques.

Let's not forget what happens to a solo player when when they are on the opposite team. One person is the weak or strongest link and they all just sit there and camp them (it happens to me all the time when I am on hot streaks). It makes their life hell just because a group of 4 people decided to pick on a solo player that has no communication with their team on the level of the 4 mans.

Logged in to down-vote. I don't even know the guys I 4-man queue with. I literally just add people and play with them because I know they're not likely to troll / afk.

I sincerely don't know why they went crazy and allowed 4 man ranks... duo Q is ok.. more than 2 is just too much.

4 man queue isn't deliberately toxic wtf? It just says, "Hey I have three friends that I want to rank with." No one hops into ranked saying, "Wouldn't it be funny to fuck up the life of that lonely person that we get matched with." There is literally no chance of riot banning only 4 man queues because of a few butthurt people who are mad that they have no one to play with.

i think around 3 man is good but they have to be at least matched up with a duo q to be fair

Dota did this forever and a half ago with the same kind of queue league just implemented. I'm sure they will do the same thing just give them some time. Also side topic but reason you can't just have 4 stacks not able to queue in any queue though is cause otherwise 4 people who want to play league together just wouldn't be able to play. I don't 4 queue for the specific reason of leaving someone out. I 4 queue cause I have 3 people I want to play with. :p

Idk i love being qued with 4 man groups. 9 times outta 10 they know what theyre doing and all i gotta focus on is winning lane rather than rallying the troops

I've met some nice people by being that 1 guy. They're the only randoms I've friended that I actually played with after them being on my friendslist for 3 weeks.

Even though this was normals, I played months ago with a 4 premade. I remember being extremely upset since I hadn't gotten a win in 4 days and I tryharded a game incredibly hard. I played mid and won my lane so badly I was at their inhib by 15 mins. Then, after we grouped and started taking down their nexus turrets, my team thought it'd be fun to surrender. Of course, they were all probably on Skype since the only thing they said was "GG" and "LOL" when our nexus exploded, and obviously, 4-1 I cannot do anything (didn't win for another 2 days).

Since Riot is making Solo Que such a miserable experience, the only choice is to just..not play until my one other buddy that plays gets off work on the weekend so we can duo for a few hours?

o-okay...I guess in opposite world this would be good business sense? discouraging someone from playing solo lmao

my 4 man group tends to be less toxic since we generally play more for fun even in ranked and so long as the last guy is decent/willing to try new things we tend to keep him in the loop about what's going on.

Generally we have one of the solo roles be the random (less reliant on us as a whole in a way) and we alert them to what we're planning on doing like if they see 3 people top and they're 3-0 with a good bit of farm playing as say fiora we tell them "hold them there we're coming" or "yha we see this but we're going to do blah try not to die and keep them from backing if you can".

Unless you're being extremely toxic or retarded we don't leave you out of the loop.

I really feel like this is a stupid request.

You give a few reasons, which are certainly concerns for the future, yet I don't feel that they would ever come up all that often.

Yes, a group of four would have an immense amount of coordination, hence the ability to take baron w/o the input of the soloqueue-er. Yes a group of four would likely be communicating only with each other.

However, a group may invite the soloman to a skype or curse voice group, and the decisions they make may actually make the game, even if they could sometimes break it. I seriously doubt that any bad decision would be any worse than one found amongst a group of solely solo players.

Additionally, a four man group isn't really toxic, unless they're raging at you or blaming you for 100% of the problems. They probably won't refuse to communicate w/ the solo player, and will evidently still use pings and warnings, as well as normal chat.

You're claiming something which could be a problem sometimes (any player or group can troll or refuse to communicate or make bad decisions, not just quadraqueues) is probably going to always happen under the circumstances, and that as a result, the game is ruined or made worse. In that, you are wrong.
