Boards are still inferior to forums.

They still suck. This is just a poor decision. They lower the quality of conversation, make information harder to find, and do not provide a good user experience.

I'd love to know what metrics you're using to determine whether or not boards offered improvement. But my guess is, whoever is responsible for this decision is probably also picking the metrics, because if you're judging yourself, you can't possibly lose.

Some quality metrics I see you've picked. So objective!

On a less sarcastic note, could you say more about:

  • Why you feel conversation quality is lower?
  • This hasn't been my experience, so I'm trying to understand where you're coming from.
  • Which parts of the interface do a poor job of providing information or are confusing?
    • I've been here for a while; I'm so used to it that it's hard for me to remember which parts took getting used to.
  • What do you think they need to add to make it a better user experience?
    • I have plenty of my own ideas, but I'd like to hear yours.

Everything about boards is terrible.

almost everyone i know IRL has simply just quit GD because of the switch. Its a great loss because the old forums was the most vibrant and user friendly game forum ive ever seen.
