Getting rid of redundant bans?

I like the 10 ban system. But what I wasn't expecting was how both teams can lock in the same bans. I thought it was going to work by one team picking 5 bans then the other team lock in their own 5 bans distinct from the first's. Should this be the case? Or do you like it how it is?

i dunno, i dont mind it. i like having a guaranteed ban. adds a bit of a...mindgame element? for example, "dont wanna waste a ban on yasuo...but will they ban yasuo? ah frigit ill ban it just in case...aaaand they banned it, crap"

It needs to change. It should be a random team gets to ban first, 30 seconds for the whole team, then 30 seconds for the next team, and SHOW THE BANS so a champ can't be banned twice. They should have done this to start.

And? You have to get 4 of the same bans to actually get fewer than the 6 bans we were getting before. It's simple math. You got your ten bans. Now you have to figure out the best way to use them.

In the 70 or so completed champion selects I've been in, the average amount of bans has been about 8.96, and the average amount of people not banning has been about .15. While that isn't a huge sample size and I'm not representative of the entire playerbase, I think it's still safe to conclude that overlapping bans is not a problem.

They're doing it to save time, but I don't like it

I love it, it's a refreshing addition of meta-game to Solo Queue.
