i'm gonna an explaination about Liandry's Torment

Nautilu's W is somewhat similer to Kayle's E

they Both Grant Magic damage on-hit they both Grant AoE Damage around/near their Target Each have a unique effect (Kayle having a Range upon using, and Nautilus Gains a Shield)

now you see, kayle's E duration cannot be interrupted, or make it end prematurely, unlike Nautilus' Duration, that can end by simply Taking down his shield

now my question is, why can Kayle proc Liandry's Torment during her E Duration, But Nautilus Can't? he can't even Proc it to the Damaged AoE enemies.

i'm really confused by this

Because Kayle's E is considered a spell effect, while Nautilus's W is considered an on hit effect.

So because it was decided one way for one move and another for a different move. "Gameplay clarity" in other words.

how is that a spell effect?

IIRC, the damage dealt by Nautilus' W is caused by a debuff he applies to the targets, not a spell in and of itself, so it doesn't proc Liandry's Torment.

Kayle's Righteous Fury is a pretty old ability and, while it is an on-hit effect, both the damage to the primary target and the splash damage are considered spells. This lets it proc Liandry's Torment.

looks like Nautilus ability looks more like a spell effect to me

From the wiki:

-While the shield persists, Nautilus's basic attacks apply a debuff to all enemies within 175 range of his target, dealing bonus magic damage over 2 seconds. -Titan's Wrath is an on-hit effect and shield that applies a damage over time to enemies around the target of Nautilus' basic attacks. -Does not apply spell effects.

Nautilus' W doesn't apply spell damage, it applies a debuff which damages the target over time. Therefore, it does not proc Liandry's Torment.

Brand's passive is also a debuff that damages the target over time, and it can proc Liandry's Torment

IIRC, Blaze isn't coded as a debuff though; it's considered a damage-over-time spell so it applies Liandry's Torment.

Doesn't matter what it "looks like" Nautilus's W is an On hit effect, Kayle's E has two parts, an on hit effect(the damage to target) and splash damage which applies spell effects. On hit effects do not apply spell effects. They ARE an effect. It's like asking why the 8% current HP shred on Bork of the ruined king doesn't apply life steal.
