I'm not complaining, but can someone please explain to me how Irelia is so strong?

I'm just unsure of how she can be so strong.

I rarely play her, last time I did was a few months ago, and I didn't understand how to play her then.

But in my last game, it seemed like she was purely unkillable. Hell, against a top lane Nidalee who spent most of the time under tower, she went Legendary in 12 minutes, tower diving him non stop. By the mid game she just had so much killing power, that anyone she hopped on was dead in two to three seconds. It was insane. Then any damage we did, be it a few hits, or bring her down to half health with hard CC helping with Leona, she would just regain all of her health within seconds killing us one by one.

Not even a fully built up Master Yi was any threat to her. And that's a scary idea, he had his Sated, Guinsoo's, Bloodthirster, BoTRK, Phantom Dancer, and the attack speed boots (i always forget what they are named for some reason). And he just couldn't match her damage. At all.

All I could do was watch in horror as she just single handedly won the game. Hell it got to where she'd bring us down just enough, then let Kog Kill us so he could get his build going.

I'm just concerned that maybe Irelia is a bit too strong....

If you think its bad now you should have seen when zephyr was still in the game, Tri, Zephyr and GA irelia was super fast and completely unkillable. She is a shell of what she used to be. Her q just got a slight buff but i think last her her E got a pretty significant nerf.

As a previous Irelia main she falls off soooo hard late game it's not even funny. Assuming the enemy ADC gets some sort of peel you will never kill him unless you pick him/instant 8 stacks rageblade

A fed Irelia is a mid-game monster. She scales extremely hard with a complete Triforce, Guinsoo, or BotRK.

She can be hard to beat, but not impossible. Turtle to the later game where she falls off if possible. The more gold you have, the more damage you have, and the easier it is to kill the Irelia who, if fed, probably has 2 offensive items. As for directly fighting her, Randuin's/Frozen Heart help greatly, since she's almost entirely on-hit reliant. And you need to burst her down if you can. 2-3 people focus-firing her should take her down. Don't bother trying to 1v1 her, she'll melt you before the stun even wears off.

If you are unable to turtle, she rips through your defenses, and you don't have enough damage to kill her, then, tough luck, I guess. She got super fed early, closed out the game, and deserved the win.

Your situation seems like a mix of the right matchup, a nid who did not know what to do and the turrets being a joke currently.
