Mages should have to deal with mana management

Nerfing mana items could potentially bring mana management back into league, even slightly. Instead of taliyah q'ing the wave twice, running back to her tower (Maybe roaming if 6), and then repeating, she will have to take more risks and perhaps make a more interactive laning experience. It could also mean, that without the ability to 24/7 spam abilities to clear waves asap, she could potentially spend less time roaming botlane, so that the current "4 v 2" botlane crap doesn't happen as often.

I played back in the early seasons when mana management was a large part of league, now adays riot has given so many tools to mana hungry champs. So Maybe I'm a little bias, but I see Mana management as a way to express a players skill, which I think league is lacking atm.

So mages should have to deal with mana issues to try and do as much damage while conserving their mana, in order to compete with an adcs auto attack damage?

Mages should be able to stay at a distance to where adc's can't get free auto's off them. Sadly this isn't true right now with items like rapid fire cannon, which I don't think adc's should have an option as an item.

And what benefits should they possess for this drawback?

having most of the highest impact spells in the game

Mage item update did the exact opposite of that, adding mana and cdr to items while reducing the ap. They want higher impact and less spam, should revert those or else the design philosophy remains inconsistent

That's fine but get all these manaless fuckers out of mid lane. I want my opponent to have to manage mana too.

CrazFight 2 votes

I think an argument against that is, that manaless champions are more restrained at the items they can purchase, because they don't want to invest a large portion of there gold into an item that provides a large pot of mana. I can see where your coming from tho.

Being able to rush items like Gunblade or Duskblade without worrying about having to buy mana items is a huge advantage. This argument that they are missing out on something is disingenuous bullshit.

Except that also goes the other way because mana gated champions need to buy mana to function. You think people don't want to maybe get an early rylai or get that massive ap amp from rabadon? There's no diversity in item builds if everyone has to build mana to function.

mana item nerf are justified . They got manaflow band and its enough. 250 extra mana and mana regen based on missing mana is way too broken .

I agreed with and upvoted this thread butthese changes will have to be followed up woth straight nerfs to several manaless modlaners.

I agree.

However, bot lane mana-dependent supports already have a hard time with mana and Riot hasn't shown concern for that yet. That's where I'm seeing an issue.

OK, but what about ADCs with IE + Shiv and resourcless champions then?

Adc's dmg needs to be nerfed in general, and imo adc's shouldn't have shiv as an item choice, but it doesn't seem likely that item will be removed.

So basically you should also argue we should increase spell damage drastically, otherwise you don't have an argument since ADC's get mana free damage.

Maybe that would be an option to explore later, but I don't think thats the main problem right now. Adc's have always been able to get mana less free damage, but they haven't always been as op as they are now.

Uh no. I'm not having one of these "I can't theory craft correctly so we deal with it later excuses. That is what everyone is tired with.

Sorry but you think riot will let taliyah suffer with the rest of the mages? She'll be exempt so they can keep her in the meta.
