In ranked people like the person that did the best because they want to climb and appreciate the skilled players. If a support is skilled he may get honored. The honor system leans more toward skill than personality in ranked games, and thus softly defeats the purpose of a behavioral honor.
Of course a person that carried could have also been the shotcaller, tiltproof or whatever gg <3 is but it's because they performed well that game that they were honored. Some games I try to honor the guy that had a tough lane but didn't tilt, like a shen into a yorick. The shen got beat bad but he started helping out other lanes and we all had to get together to kill yorick because he was so fed. But I honored him for not raging or quitting. However I notice that the most honorable player usually is the one that had a cakewalk lane. In no way am I trying to say that carries should never be honored. I was just stating in my experience honor is more easily earned through other modes other than ranked because the importance of winning is not as high.
