Why no love for Gnar?

I admit I am tried of Gnar being left on such a weak state.

Gnar doesn't really have any good points in solo queue for sometime. In competitive play he's only ok but in solo queue there is nothing going for him.

People whine about him being a lane bully but he is actually pretty bad in lane until he gets some items.. His cooldowns are atrocious that honestly what is the point of a very weak early game when games end to soon now for his mid game to be a thing because of how badly they snowball thus unable to take advantage of mid game powerspikes with damage items.

So many bad match ups for him, easy to counter, get punished too easy. His ult is super telegraphed, easy to flash & top it off with too much mobility makes it not crazy impactful anymore.

Cant even take advantage with damage items anyways because of how easily he blows up, has bad scaling mid-late game. Many champions are just a pain in the ass in laning phase so much so that we are forced to rush tank.

Is too team reliant now which isnt fun nor fair seeing how bad the system mmr is.

So much has been nerfed about him. His items, his masteries and even his base skills and damage.

Now that his core item got nerf again because of every AD champ is building it to get something that they should never have. Tanky stat... Riot, are you guys are gonna look into Gnar? I mean why wasn't he added to the tank update since we are now being forced into building such? This meta is the worst ever it has been for him but I still always worry on him doing good again because he gets a nerf the moment he does...

I hate it because Gnar is the reason why I got into playing League of leagends...

honestly I feel the weakness is in his mega form now, I feel it could use some buffs when he is in mega, because through a junglers perspective, hell even through a carry champions perspective such as a riven or a Quinn we go.

"oh he is in mega, he has to fight up close now, he lacks a escape now, his abilities are easier to dodge now"

I honestly think he's in a pretty good state now. Granted, a buff to his cooldowns or overall sustainability (Health regen, AD, Minignar health, etc.) would be nice. The only problem I feel with Gnar is his early game, especially in mini form, as you're so squishy it's actually ridiculous. I agree that a lot of champions counter Gnar, especially those with some ranged poke, and those who can pull off mad damage and be able to run, but I feel like those are the champions who aren't really supposed to go top lane. I mean look at a typical top lane, such as Malphite. He has ranged poke, but just run Doran's Shield, and you're good. Since they usually build tanky first, your W passive will do more damage.

But it also depends on how you play overall. Gnar is in my opinion, is kind of complicated. He's not your typical snowballer, such as Tryndamere, and not your typical super tanky, unkillable champion, such as Garen, but kind of in the middle. So you have to learn to be aggressive, and know when to back out, as you can do a ton of damage, but die really fast. Try going Thunderlords rather than the typical Fervor (I'm ready for all the other Gnar mains preparing to downvote and flame me for this), as the damage you deal when combined with your passive, is enough to force your enemy to back off and let you farm freely for a few seconds.

If you play him right, you can do extremely well (Contrary to the popular belief that Gnar players typically don't get KDA's over 0.5), get tons of objectives, be tanky, and carry the game.

Overall, I feel like he's just right, and a buff would be nice, but a major "rework" is not required. At all.

Plus I don't want his play rate to go up! ;)

Gnar is in a good state right now. Take it from a man with 300k points on him.

he won't be left in a weak state with the LC$ coming up

then everybody and their mother will play him

then after LC$ is over, they nerf him and u dont see him again

I used to play a lot of Gnar but I've been focusing on adc and support now. I did play him a bit recently though and he seems like he's fine
