I pkay league a lot, im level 41 but I saw Skarner once in the last few months.

Skarner is one of the least popular champs in the game.

Even yorick and udyr are more popular

He's a fun champion, and can be good as an offensive or defensive tank, but that map-bound passive is what kills his viability early on. He's pretty much relegated to roaming roles because of the spires and, as a melee champion with limited methods of countering poke during the laning phase, is destined to the jungle and the occasional support roles.

(Honestly would be neat if his W acted like his current passive except centered around the cursor like Trundle's W does, but I don't know how best to incorporate that or what to use instead of his passive).
