For all you Rengar mains not wanting ferocity to expire.

There is a reason it was changed to decaying after out of combat for a reason.

And that reason was because you could basically just stack up five ferocity back then and instantly one shot someone. It might seem like Rengar has a lot of burst now, but he had even more back then because he could stack up ferocity. The current Rengar actually takes time to stack ferocity, which delays his empowered ability and in turn delays his burst by a considerable amount of time. Moreover, it made Rengar really unfun to play against in lane, as he would win every single trade that he made because of his empowered ability and also gave him considerable sustain since he could keep spamming W.

So although I am open to Rengar changes, I am certainly opposed to letting him stack ferocity.

Jump from bush/ult + Q+W+E = instant empowered.

It really doesn't delay it all.

If he can hold on to savagery he would START with an empowered attack, do that combo, then END with an empowered attack.

Yeah, but he'd still end his burst after getting empowered by using all his abilities then using his empowered ability.

What he starts with doesn't matter, because we're talking time here. We're talking the end.

Sure the burst may have been stronger, or maybe not. Either way, the time it takes for the whole thing is the same.

...Unless he oneshots you before he gets to his second empowered Q.

I'm really not sure where you are going with this. Starting with an empowered attack obviously improves your burst, as you are beginning with the strongest hit as opposed to building up to it. It also massively improves the overall damage since you still get to end with the empowered hit as current.

In 'talking time' the damage comes sooner. As for 'talking the end' I have no clue what that means, but it would boost his overall damage significantly.

If old Rengar and new Rengar have different amounts of total damage, that's a number thing.

For old Rengar to get 100% of his burst out, he starts with an empowered ability and ends with one. This takes the exact same amount of time as new Rengar, who starts with nothing and ends with an empowered ability.

As you can see, the time it takes to do 100% of his damage was not delayed. The only difference is that his starting hit is weaker (and the crit evens that as well).

The point of a burst combo is that it is a 'combo'. You aren't just nonstop dpsing a training dummy. If that were the case you would be right.

But since Rengar players understand this basic concept they build up savagery BEFORE entering combat as to allow 2 empowered attacks where they would otherwise have 1.

This is what allowing ferocity to expire denied Rengar players, the ease of which they can build up points in relative safety then holding onto the points for the future burst combo.

This is the exact circumstance we are talking about here, the situation where Rengar can build up points and then (since they did not expire) use them on a future kill.

Basically the current situation works like you say, you have to use the ferocity right now making it a prolonged DPS. But if ferocity didn't expire (like it worked in the past) then they no longer need to make it a single fight, but instead can just try to build up some stacks, then leave, then use their points on the burst target of their choice at any point in the future they desire. Or they can just build up points on minions at no risk to themselves then at full points move in for a kill, no need to even be in combat with enemy opponents to set up this burst.

Unsurprisingly, this was the strategy of choice since it allowed for the greatest burst in their burst combo.

nothing more annoying than the current rengar IMO. just have him come in and deal damage. have his lost health convert to grey health, than have him press w i believe? and get that all back. his sustain still makes him annoying.

i mean it's pretty much a tahm kench e, but he can heal instead of getting a shield.

Haha, I actually agree, it was one of the few things that went well with the update.

It means the empowered ability can be properly impactful as well, and doesn't need to be balanced around the idea that it is going to be part of his instant combo.
