Look, not many people may know of this glitch, and people probably won't exploit it. But as long as it is being used, it is out there. I'm really worried for people's elo right now.

Didn't know it was a commonly known issue, and so reported it. Disappointed he wasn't flat out disabled.

Riot doesnt care. They want kids to think they got away with it so they spend more money, then worry about banning maybe 1% of them later. No reason to ban paying customers, especially since they are now owned by chinese.

I was literally about to post this myself. I cannot believe that I am finding this out on youtube before Riot disables him. They to do well since i've started playing (end of season 5) but for them to miss something of this level is crazy! Welp its time to start banning this champ until he gets disabled because this is just stupid in so so so many ways. I hope they get to it ASAP because its just not fun to face be normals or ranked.

Yes, Riot is letting them do it and not taking any action other than having the automated system permabanning them.

You might argue that it's up to the players to report and send in a support ticket, but frankly, people forget to report in lobby at times and support tickets take time.

In these cases, does Riot compensate anyone for games / LP loses that you were guaranteed to lose because Xerath was on the opposing team? It'll probably be a small number of people for sure, but more of curious as to their stance especially since I'm not sure how you could win against this.

Probably not as it's only 1 game for each of those people (probably). The amount of effort for Riot to do that would not be worth it to undo 1 game for a bunch of people.

In a case where it's easy to duplicate and needs no modification to the client to accomplish to take unfair advantage of an exploit (see "Riven" TP bug) they may not action against it. But in a case where you need to go out of your way and/or make modifications to the client to achieve it (see BoRK bug) they will absolutely ban.

This particular bug actually falls under the latter category. This is not something that happens by accident.

If it requires some script or software to pull off they deserve a ban for sure. If it's just keyboard and mouse then it's entirely riots fault and while it's slimey to abuse it, they didnt cheat. It's in the game and riot put it in the game, inadvertently of course but still.

I have a feeling it is actually just keyboard and mouse, no scripts. Since in the video the guy fucks it up a couple times. Scripts and programs dont really fuck up they just do it perfectly every time

I don't know why I'm being down voted. Riot cannot ban you for abusing in game glitches. nobody was permad for abusing Yasuo who had a game breaking bug for a good 3 solid months.

Nobody is going to be permad for abusing a Xerath exploit unless it's a script. But, I'm pretty sure it's something to do with an in game exploit involving buy an item, or having a specific mastery setting + rune page.

It's a script. You can look this up, it's a 3-hour YouTube video of a livestream. It's from the creator of the script, showing off the script in-action. If you view the videos that have been referenced over the past 24 hours, the Xerath stands in the same spot, and behaves the exact same.

Yasuo's "game breaking bug" (I assume you're referring to his extra auto during his ult) was something players had no control over. They didn't choose to use it, it was just there. With this Xerath issue, you actually have to understand how to make it happen and consciously make the choice to do it. It is clearly unintentional, and using it to win games is no different than using scripts or hacks.

Yasuo's bug was nowhere near game breaking - it added a small amount of damage to his ult. It was hardly noticeable unless you knew about it, and the vast majority of players - including Yasuo mains - were unaware it even existed until it was fixed. It had low impact on the game, and players would normally not even be aware it was happening when it occurred. It was not a bannable offense.

Xerath's is a very difficult bug to reproduce - you have to stand in a very specific spot in order to use it. When it is used, it is clearly intentional, and no one is going to do it on accident. It is extremely game breaking and is a guaranteed win for the user. That is a bannable offense - in fact, Meddler has confirmed that a number of players have already been perma-banned for it.

For your Ahri scenario, that type of bug would warrant an immediate disable of Ahri. It would be impossible for any Ahri player to play a fair match, since it would have a massive impact in every scenario, no matter the Ahri player's intentions. There would be no need for a ban.

Riot can ban you for abusing a glitch to your own advantage. Just because it's an oversight on their part does not give you the right to gain an advantage that you're not supposed to get that way.

Actually they can, other companies such as Blizzard has banned people who knowingly abusing game mechanics in WoW before (Look up World First Lich King kill, the guild abused the engineer bombs and the entire guild got something like a 3 day ban and the achievement/rewards taken away), several times. The fact is you know it's wrong yet you continue to do it knowing it is wrong which gives them every right to ban/suspend you. Difference here is Riot can just disable Xerath to stop it all together until they find a fix compared to Blizzard hot fixing such bugs (or removing all loot/gold/awards from those players).

I don't think you seem to understand that LEAGUE OF LEGENDS is not WORLD OF WARCRAFT.

NOBODY HAS BEEN BANNED IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS FOR EXPLOITING A BUG WITHOUT UTILIZING A SCRIPT. OTHER WISE EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT PLAYED YASUO LITERALLY LAST SEASON WOULD BE PERMANENTLY BANNED BECAUSE HE WAS BUGGED WITH A GAME BREAKING EXPLOIT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THIS IS ALSO INCLUDING THE FORMER ZHONYAS + W JAX INTERACTION, THE SHACO INTERACTION WITH SATED, THE SINGED FLASH INTERACTION, THE YASUO UNLIMITED E INTERACTION, THE TRYNDAMERE INFINITE FARM INTERACTION AND SEVERAL OTHER GAME BREAKING MECHANICS THAT CAUSED WINRATES TO SOAR.

Please tell me more about what League of Legends is going to do when it's been proven through countless seasons of me being here that they DON'T BAN YOU FOR GAME EXPLOITS UNLESS SCRIPTS/HACKS ARE INVOLVED.

The first Lich King kill they didn't even know about the bug when they were "abusing" it, according to them. What's certainly true is that every DPS was using engineer bombs on every fight - not just the Lich King - so it's 100% possible that they had no idea what was wrong.

I would like to remind the community of the bork glitch that happened around the initial release of trinkets. For those who don't remember, you could glitch bork into the 7th item slot for trinkets and have no cooldown on the active. People would go around and seemingly one shot people the moment they got close. Players who abused this glitch were permanently banned due to exploiting this bug.

I'm not sure what bug you're talking about with Yasuo, but if no one was banned for abusing it, then it was not at the same level as a one shot active and infinite range ability at lvl 1

People who abused Sion's ult bug did get permabanned, though. I'm not familiar with the Jax/Singed ones, but for abuse cases like Sion's and now Xerath's which are so obvious and require you to actually know what you are doing, it should be obvious that what you are doing is wrong. People who abuse this will get permabanned.

Ya just had a game in ranked with this bull shit. I reported the xerath and our jg for asking how to use and pm the guy. Just not fun. If you wanna play ranked ban xerath. No other option right now. I also sent riot two bug reports. One from the game and one with what I found in the game.

Dude, that 41/0/4 with 202 minion kills in an 8 and a half minute game. And if you looked at the Yumbee's profile (The one exploiting the hack/glitch in the video) He had 9 games in a row that were sub 15 or sub 10 minutes.

Yeah. I really don't know the particulars of it or why it's just in Korea. The only guess I could venture is that with the prevalence of cafes that it is used to help with tracking. That's the only thing I could think of, but I could be completely off the mark.

ya it was a shit game. something weird I noticed was that the first wave of minions was damaged but I wasn't damaged at the first top tower. So I watched the replay of the game and the cut off point off point for his global damage was some were near the top quarter of the map. about mid point between the two towers.
