Singed mains -- teach me your ways.

Hey there, Onwodori here.

Singed is maybe the most fun champion I have played to date. He shouldn't be, on paper, but he is -- just run away, heckle your opponents with laughs, see how fast you can stack your tear, test yourself to see if you can pull off that E W combo, proxy farming (I don't have the nerve to do this yet)

What I'm getting at is -- please let me know what I can do with this guy. I'm loving him in the jungle and he'll only get stronger with the release of runic echoes, that sweet, sweet 10% movement speed making for some absurd team fight run arounds and damage.

Thanks and let them chase,

-Onwodori

Honestly. I dont like the Tear build on him. I think it takes too long even though it's pretty easy to stack on singed. He doesn't need as much mana as it gives him and the AP you gain isn't really as strong on him as it could be.

When I do play Singed, I usually just build RoA and then build based on how the game is going. I have built nearly every item on him at some point (besides AD items), and I really like some items more than others.

Offense: item 3027 item 3116 item 3151 item 3285 item 3135 item 3001 Defense: item 3742 item 3075 item 3143 item 3065 item 3083 item 3110 item 3102 Situational/Utility: item 3060 item 3165 item 3800 item 3512 Boots: item 1323 item 1318 item 1313 item 1308 item 1333 all work. I love distortion enchant for more summoner 6

As I said, I don't like Tear personally but I know people have really good success with it, but I feel it delays Singed's powerspike too much as his midgame has to be strong or he will have a tough lategame. If you like it, its still a good item stat wise. it gives 250 hp along with the mana and AP when fully stacked. I just feel that RoA is more cost efficient now that it gives 120 AP and 800 mana which is close enough to AA staff but with significantly more HP coming up to 700 HP with SInged's passive.

I honestly feel like a more defensively based Singed is more powerful for your team than an AP stacking Singed. That said, you should definitely be a legitimate threat to a backline as Singed and balancing offense and defense items for Singed is very tricky. I feel like he has a very open build in that he can easily opt for items to fit the situation more so than other champions and I think that he is a great champion to learn for this reason. You have to really think about which champs the enemy team has and which ones are strong/weak. You also have to think about the amount of CC on the enemy team and what kind it is to optimize your build (ie. are Swiftness boots optimal vs Mercs vs Tabi vs Lucidity).

In teamfights, it is usually best for Singed to be a diver on top of the enemy backline, using Ghost, TP, Flash or an item along with your Ult to really pressure them to run away from you rather than risk getting tossed behind you. This is best done when an enemy frontline dives onto your own backline/frontline. Chasing after the enemy backline will make the diving enemies feel very overextended and without the support of 2 or 3 of their own team, will likely fall to your teammates. You should always fall back if you are taking too much damage and go to help your team deal with the few diving fighters/tanks if they are still alive. The enemy carries will try and follow you to try and finish you off which will likely cause them to take damage from your poison trail. If your team is behind, sometimes it is best to be a massive splitpush threat to try and take the enemy's attention away from your team as they catch up. If you are not attracting the attention of 2 or more enemies though, your team might be in trouble as they will likely lose a 4v4 if they are behind, so keep this in mind and try this when Teleport is up. If your team is ahead, Singed makes a great tower diver as his ult gives him significant defensive stats to keep him chugging even with a laser burning his ass all day.

Laning phase for Singed is the hardest part of playing him as he has a lot of tough matchups. Getting early jungle help can really snowball Singed in a big way. Champions that can only output one damage type makes Singed's lane a lot easier as well as early boot upgrades are usually core on Singed. Taking the Corrupting potion is a good start on any Singed game as it keeps him healthy and his mana up in the laning phase and it increases his DOT damage significantly to enemies.

I'm not an expert Singed player but I hope this helps. I have a lot of fun playing Singed and I think I can speak to his strengths and weaknesses. He does need to snowball to carry a game but he can always remain relevant in some way if behind. But when Singed is ahead/fed, he is nearly impossible to deal with. Anyway, peace man. Have a good day.

Hello, I am a low level Singed main, but as a frequent viewer of the well known singed mains, I know quite a lot, I also know their opinions, and I agree with most of them. So, let's begin. We'll start with a well known(not) fact, his passive is a trap. Mana only helps him in the early and a bit of mid game, afterwords, as long as you do proper management of your abilities, you won't drop in mana that quickly, unless you're in a long winded teamfight. It's best to focus on important items for him, such as Deadman's plate, Rylai's, and Liandry's, instead of mana items as they primarily provide little for him. Yeah, great, bonus health, but do you know what will give him more bonus health? Tank items. :p Silliness aside, His passive primarily works as a means for items that do grant mana, as well as additional stats (ie, Frozen heart, Rod of ages, Righteous Glory, Frozen heart, etc) to be more cost effective. also, I don't want to be that guy who says "Hey dont do tht thats shiit", but Tear is actually regarded as a poor item on singed, although it remains in his recommended. But, you do you shotty. If you can make it work, good on you. Now.. on to proxy. Level one proxy is kind of null and void now, as the risk you take outways the benefits. With the changes, you can only stay for two waves, and that's only enough to buy you an early pair of boots, you don't even get a level up anymore, due to the longevity of your stay being cut. Though, proxy as a whole hasn't been cut. If you have an opportunity to proxy later on, take it, as it will more than likely be effective. As it stands, that's the extent of what I know about him for this season. It'd be best to watch people like Chimpso (as WookieJesuz pointed out), or that NA Singed main, I cannot for the life of me remember his name. But, there is at least one well known singed main in each regional server. So, go crazy. Another thing to add, There are a lot of items that synergize with him, so it's up to you to figure out what works best in what situation, such as, if tear works better in this situation than RoA, I'll build that, or if neither works, rush a different item. If there are no hard CC or devastating spells you need to block, SV will benefit you more than BV, as you get cooldown reduction (ult synergy) and a bonus healing passive (more ult synergy).

Also, I'd like to add, it is not wise to Build both Tear and RoA in the same game, it just isn't worth it. Other Singed mains can tell you why, as I don't entirely know why. But this does come from experience.

I often do not buy either, since he needs a stronger early game than he has with them. If I do, I pick up catalyst and build it into RoA if I do well enough early. If it's past a certain point, I get Righteous Glory or even just leave it to keep the passive.

Build Singed as a fighter, he'll be durable even with AP.

Rod of Ages is the only mana item you need. His passive isn't good enough to stack it, and he isn't going to run out unless you use Fling whenever you feel like it.

Singed is best picked against passive laners (Shen, Maokai). Also look for anybody without good range.

Pop the ult early. It lasts for a long time.

Singed

  1. if you aint trolling, you aint winning (troll the enemies, not yourself.)
  2. **never engage the enemy laner **if you can help it. just use the poison trail, and fling your enemy away when he tries to engage you.
  3. distract enemies? yeah, do that. but **get your cs as high as possible **as well, since you wont have many kills.
  4. best case scenario: your mid laner takes a liking to ganking bot, you get to roam between top and mid lanes, shoving both all the way to inhibitor turrets.
  5. after level 6, don't expect to use your auto attack on minions. EVER.
  6. mana is life. it gives you health to have a lot of mana. also, you do essentially no damage without your poison, so don't bother staying in lane without it.

Rod of Ages can be good on him if you're sure the game will last long enough for you to get enough use out of it. Otherwise, just go Rylai's + Liandry's, then full tank. Also how the hell does Jungle Singed work what are you doing.

Don't build items like ROA or Tear they are just too expensive to put money into investing and its better to just get 2 dorans rings too help with your mana regen. Don't focus on building around his passive because its useless and its much better to rush your rylais since its singed's core item. If you wanna learn more about Singed try looking up Chimpso's youtube channel. He teaches you all about runes, masteries, strats, and matchups on how to play Singed.

Don't build tear. Just build catalyst. Either of the items that build out of it are fine overall. But RoA is the preferred choice.

After that build him tanky. If you want more damage fit a Rylia and Liandry's in your build.

Other than that, flash or ghost + teleport. Think to yourself "what's the most annoying thing I could do right now". Then do it. And you'll be fine.
