Is it just me, or are there less feeders now that iron division is around?

Last season I was hard stuck S4. This season I jumped from S4 to S2 30 lp with no problem. I have noticed that the average player on my team is feeding less, making fewer dumb mistakes, and seems to have more general know-how in terms of late game strategy.

You realise that silver 4 in season 8 is miles lower than silver 2 in season 9 right?

To put it in perspective S8: b5->b4->b3->b2->b1->s5->s4 s9: i4->i3->i2->i1->b4->b3->b2->b1->s4->s3->s2

And the amount of total tiers is 1 less too. (not counting grandmaster as an extra tier because population wise we all know b5 was way more dense than GM will be)

No, you're just incredibly lucky. There are feeders and AFKers in every second game I played - I also had a huge losing streak last week (around 10 games) where in 5 out of 10 games someone in my team just went AFK midgame. People also still run in unwarded brushes and think that they can 1 vs 3 alone, or that I will help my already dead jungler contest scuttle as Veigar level 2 against Zed and Yi.

New players and hard stuck Bronze "smurfs" are no longer getting placed at Silver MMR so the quality of the games has likely improved drastically.
