Does ARAM change people?

I am finding it does, as the more matches I play, the more I realize that so many people are bad at the mode. It truly is strange. Seeing people that are Gold and even Platinum ranks just really sucking at the champs they get, and I'm not talking champions that, according to Riot have higher learning difficulties, like Yasou or LB,which have 10 and 9 respectively. I'm talking champions like MF, Morgana or Malphite, all of which have a 1 or 2 in the difficulty range.

I don't have a "main" champion, and I have used every champ at least once. So even when I get an "unfamiliar" champion, I still manage to go positive, equal or otherwise contribute many assists to more skilled players, yet so many game I get people who get arguably the easiest champions to use and they go 2/12/6 or something like that.. and when I look at their rank, it's Gold or Platinum. If you can't handle the higher skilled champions, I totally get it.. but these champions are some of the easiest to use..

Not trying to call people out.. but I would have thought people at those ranks would have more skill at playing other champions besides who they "main." They seem to do well in ranked or normal's, just not so much in ARAM. I guess it must be the mode? idk..

They could be really good at dominating lane and getting objectives.. aram is probably 60-70% luck based on team comps.. and only about 30-40% skill based.

I suppose that is true. Thanks!

ARAM is less than 20% luck IMO. It is where your mechanics and game knowledge (in terms of build adaptation) really shine through.

I played bots and ARAM only until level 30 due to ranked and PVP anxiety. Afterwards I was crushing silvers and got gold in a few weeks, simply because they were mechanically worse than I was. I never saw silver again.

melee team against tanks and casters... is luck lol. I went against a katarina with no tanks or cc on my team outside of an ultimate.. The fact that lux and varus are gods of aram lol. It's a lot more luck based than you think however I weill agree that build adaptation is important, well said on your part :)

I play ARAM as if it was ranked.

I had the honor of playing against Challenger and Master players on ARAM before. Their mechanics were out of this world.

I try to as well, which leads me to think that people's skill is just bad in many cases.. at least from what I've seen. I would love to play with/against those levels of skill and see how well those players use the random champ they get. Thanks for the comment!

Aram is nowhere close to 80 or even 30% luck or at least that's not why people lose.

people in ARAM take on different attitudes, some dont take it seriously, others take it seriously but don't know shit and arent willing to listen to anyone.

But more than anything people simply take common sense things anywhere else for granted when they play aram. For example if you ask who's going to farm the minions they will become completely idiotic over it half the time and the other times they will just ignore you or assume youre an idiot then cry because they can't seem to win such an imbalanced "looking" matchup.

Well... the thing is, the issue of the question that you are asking is that it is founded on flawed grounds.

1 . That actually sounds pretty normal for the ranking. Also, rank is very dependent on how much said person plays. The system is designed for people to climb after all. 2 . Aram is all random, so teams get bad comps rather often. 3 . KDA doesn't really say much of anything about how well a person plays. KDA is going to vary wildly based upon the circumstances of the game; sometimes a person who has a negative KDA carries, sometimes the person who is 7/1 at one point in the game is the person who causes the team to lose.

4 . It looks like you were never told... Those champion charts don't show learning difficulty. They are actually completely useless.

The ratings are entirely arbitrary, nigh meaningless, and usually make no sense at all. Why does a squishy ADC with no escapes whose defensive buff for kiting can be completely negated by a stray caster minion shot get rated as being 7X easier than a mage who becomes quite tanky, who has no resources to manage, can heal himself every 9-5 seconds, and has a speed boost which makes him untargetable? Why is Dr. Mundo's "attack power" only one point less than Kayle's, when Kayle builds damage while Mundo is a tank who builds none? Why is Morgana the lowest "difficulty" rating when all her damage is extremely choreographed and hard to land while other champions whose damage is point-and-click are supposed to be harder?

They are completely irrelevant to the reality of this game.

the charts were made for new players as are the new champion types

the old new ones not the new new ones i dunno about those

also I believe mundo's ult gives 100 AD

Well, you are talking about the purpose, which is something different for one... And that just makes it worse. Because it is grossly misleading to new players who don't know this and don't know enough about the game to figure out and know any better

They aren't bad, people just don't care about ARAM. It's a fun mode unless u're facing Varus, Lux or Xerath
