Sated Devourer Crit & Life Steal Items

Simple question: Will the Sated Devourer double the on-hit life steal from items like the Bloodthrister item 3072 ?

It doubles on hit, so Life Steal and whatnot, will be doubled. (Every other auto). Crit does not count as on-hit, it's a separate mechanic. So Sated Devourer has 0 interactions with Crit. Crit will apply normally, as if Sated Devourer didn't exist.

EDIT: (Credit to Anomander for the explanation). Life Steal will not double either. Sated Devourer actually launches a second AA, that deals 0 damage. So Life Steal, which is based on AA damage dealt (0 here) would technically work, but you'd Life Steal 0 health.

Umm no Life steal is based on damage done via autoattacks(after resists) the second attack from devourers has no damage thus no life steal.

Ohhh that's right. Good call, thanks for clarifying. I'll edit

Their are a few footnotes to this I think.

item 3153 Not to long ago I recall that Life steal now Applies to it's passive. So you would still get life steal from the passive damage of this item.

item 3074 I'm less sure about this one, the Cleave passive which deals 20-60% total Attack damage on hit to surrounding enemies. sounds like would work separately from the Auto attacks damage. So the Cleave passive which applies life steal would still work.

Blades active is what gives health the passive doesn't do life steal.

As far as item 3074 My understanding is that the cleave damage is based on the 20%-60% of that attack. Which with devourers is 0 so no damage on the devourers proc.

I wish a dev could clear this up, but the Phantom Hit seems to get give you your basic attack + the on hit buff. No where does anything seem to be zero or taken away. I think you are confusing everyone.

The Phantom Hit is the additional affect added on to your basic attack.

The Phantom hit does not deal any damage of its own it only applies additional on hit effects such as a blade of the ruin. king

With the item rework S3, Tiamat and Hydra were changed specifically to use the user's AD for its damage, to get around some abuse scenarios (Critting Sheen Tiamat GP, for example).

the Hydra does its damage based upon your attack damage the phantom hit has no attack damage therefore no damage

Cleave will not trigger if it has triggered on a different target in the last 0.05 seconds.[3] ◾ This affects abilities such as ShyvanaSquare.png Shyvana's Twin Bite.png Twin Bite (Dragon form). ◾ There is no cooldown on triggering the effect on a single target, such as Double Strike.png Double Strike or ShyvanaSquare.png Shyvana's Twin Bite.png Twin Bite (Human Form).

regardless it will not proc because of this so you can't get the aoe to proc.

Double checked the Wiki, Blade's passive applies life steal as of patch 5.8

The wiki also states that the Cleave passive is based on the champion's AD Stat and not the actual damage from the attack. So that should work.

Also would it double the effects of item 3031 from 250 to 300% ?

Anomander1 votes

no crit is based on damage done. The second hit form devourers does 0 damage it just applies on hit. So while it could crit it would crit for 0.

No. There is no autoattack damage on the second attack, so there will be no damage to crit on. For the same reason, there will be no lifesteal applied unless you have an on-hit effect that lifesteal procs off of, in which case it will only proc off of that on-hit damage.

Anomander1 votes

No as the second hit does 0 damage it just applies on hit effects. Life steal is based on damage done via auto attacks.

Power Cosmic1 votes

Every other hit triggers on-hit effects twice. I am not sure what you mean by zero dmg? I do know without any altercation you get life steal from every basic attack.

Anomander1 votes

OK let me put it this way. You have 20% life steal.
First auto attack does 100 damage you get 20 health. Second auto attack does 100 damage you get 20 health. Devourer proc does 0 Damage you get 0 Health.

The devourer second/ghost attack doesn't deal damage it applies on hit effect. Like item 3091. The devourer attack has a base damage of 0 so cannot do damage. Only apply additional effects.

Sightless661 votes

Lifesteal is not an on-hit effect. Lifesteal converts a percentage of the physical damage your autoattacks and that most physical on-hits do into health. Because the second hit does not actually do any physical damage, there is nothing to lifesteal off of, unless you have an on-hit effect that the second hit procs.

What about Kayle? Would Sated Devourer Kayle 's E do double dmg?

Anomander1 votes

it procs both her e passive and her e active. Also try adding a runaans to the mix. CRAZY

Power Cosmic1 votes

Yeah I agree, doesn't matter that Kayle cant gank, lol. The damage would just be insane.

Anomander1 votes

Kayle jungle isn't about ganks it is about mid game team fights and her utility ult. Your team ahs to accept the fact that your worthless for anything other then counter ganks team fights.(kinda like shyvana)

I don't need tactical advice, lol

Anomander1 votes

I don't need rude people so I guess we both got something we didn't need. My comment was accurate. It is better to put it into perspective rather then just saying she can't gank as that makes her seem useless as a jungle and she isn't.

Matters on the the team, and your teammates.

I do not think lifesteal will work as the phantom hit does not actually apply damage and as such does not heal extra, if there was an item that healed you a flat amount on hit then it would.
