Snowballing

While on many new, hot and old boards, I've seen a lot of people claim that this game is a super slippery slope on one side or the other. While snowballing is extremely big for someone to achieve, I feel as if this is mutually shared amongst every champion. Maybe I may be over thinking this, but if they can snowball, why can't you? What makes it that much different comparatively? Would it change if every champion spiked at the same time? From what I've seen, someone getting ahead is typically a stomp, but it is only because of the gold system in place as of right now- which means a single shutdown is the very difference between being stopped and holding your own, but then there are champions who are forced to buying very weak and expensive items that really dely a person's ability to hold their ground. So aside from those specific champions, I no longer believe that a player can lose to someone spiking and then snowballing with it. There has to be a separate element that controls this.
