An Experimental Summoner's Rift Game Mode...
Seeing how I can't speak as the majority, I can still speak on the behalf of statistics. If game modes were just as successful and popular as the 5v5 summoner's rift, I see no reason why the same dedication wouldn't go towards them. Seeing how that is not the case, I still wonder why the developers don't use this "tactic" to their advantage. What I mean by this, is how game modes can still play around with pretty interesting ideas, and yet is all about experimenting with what could possibly be applied within 5v5's Summoner's Rift (For example, showing what it is like when they address a player's concerns). You see, I understand that this may seem like an underhanded tactic, but as a developer myself, I'm pretty sure it is hard to see what the players enjoy with a fan base of this size. Having it as a game mode can definitely be a game changer for absolutely everyone- including allowing ranked games to stay the way they are a lot longer while incorporating alterations within game the modes so that one day, the beloved ideas just might be applied. On another note, I can see you guys tell me, "that's what the PBE is for". Well, yeah; Although that is true, the majority of those changes actually gets applied to the live servers whether or not it is good for the player base rather than healthy for the player base. Technically speaking, the PBE revolves around having things function correctly- not if the changes effects the player base at all and this is all because the player base is much, much smaller by comparison. Meanwhile in the live servers, there really aren't many elements being altered into the game. In fact, the majority of times, they are just balances, bug fixes, and the incorporation of the new "stuff" from the PBE. Needless to say, there is nothing wrong with that either. All I'm saying is that it sure would be nice to see fun, big, experimental changes as a game mode- since well... the whole concept behind it is to only have the original game benefit from this.
