Botlane META needs to go.

Honestly, I just go Darius support. I can feel better knowing I can at least kill secure, apply slows, have a pull and am naturally tanky.

For a long time Riot refused to enforce this meta (which didn't exist in early League).

I both like and dislike the fact that its "part of the game" now.

That said, there is no real definition of what support "must" do. I doubt you'd ever get punished for CSing, roaming, going into another lane, etc. (Assuming you arent trolling your team).

If you aren't fighting or roaming as a support, you're definitely doing it wrong. If someone is telling you that you're not supposed to be fighting or roaming, they're doing it wrong. I can promise you that in higher level play, supports have to be aggressive. The support who plays passive is the support who is fucking their ADC and their team over. It's a very rare occurrence that the best option is to sit around and watch your ADC farm (it can happen, but it usually means you're not where you should be on the map).

I was Lux support last night, and quite literally saved the team's Twisted Fate from a grisly death with my shield and he secured a double kill immediately because he didn't die. The team applauded him and he took the praise as if he wouldn't have been a greasy stain without me there. I had to iterate that I did indeed help with that kill by shielding his less than 20HP butt.
