So Neeko is basically just Morgana but with less sustain?

Both have a skillshot root, both have an area DoT (though Neeko's ticks slower), and both have a delayed aoe stun on their ulti. The Main difference is that neeko has the clone/invis thingy instead of black shield, and the passive doesn't seem to me like it'd change play much, since it's very easy to proc (though I'm sure it'll cause a few funny moments, I just don't think it has any real impact on the playstyle). I suppose the root does work a little differently (Morgana's root is worse with minions around, whereas neeko's is better), but for the most part their playstyle and combo seem identical to me (at least when playing ap).

Many champs have similar kits and designs in their abilities, the imagination and what is able to be done can only go so far, you could compare her to Zyra very easily as well. Have you ever actually compared Ornn and Urgot for example?

Q: Ranged skillshot that has a slow that synergises with part of their kit. W: A self slow which shields them, does damage and allows them to easily proc their %HP passive. E: A CC dash.

Only difference is the R, Ornn is area of effect knockup vs Urgot's single target execute.

I mean. If you completely ignore one of the most iconic parts of Morgana's kit, then sure...

But I'm pretty sure most of us aren't just going to ignore Black Shield.

No, Neeko has MUCH more variance in her gameplay options. If you play her like Morgana then you are missing out on a lot of her kit.

There is especially a gigantic difference in her engage and escape tools and Neeko has a intricate layer of mind games from what I ve seen on the PBE. A good Neeko makes sure that the enemy wastes/misuses their skills.

There are similarities, true. I really wish though people would stop stripping kits from all their nuances and details and then proclaim to have found some patterns when in reality there is nothing left but a bare skeleton of what the champ actually is.

neeko is just a better morgana. neeko's root is 10x better than any other root. it goes thru minions, but not only that, it fuckin SPEEDS UP when it goes thru minions... add on that hitboxes in this game are notoriously bad and you have a real OP ability. you have to constantly be on guard for it (unlike almost every other cc ability where you can just play from behind minions) and even if you are ready for it you'll probably underestimate its speed and even if you don't you might just get screwed by the game's janky hitboxes. and once she hits her root she's just gonna press q on you and get 3 ticks and if it's early then there goes half your health. she has her w movement speed boost to engage and either root or land ult or get out of a bad situation. and her ult is just a better morgana ult as well.
