I know Support's have been OP for a while but Spellthief's got gutted

No Mana regen, no CDR, Less gold gen, less AP, no bonus magic damage when procing the passive. Losing all this for 10 health and the option to have 5 AD instead. Also less XP

Relic shield got hit to but not as hard. Less Health, no health Regen on upgrade, no healing on minion kills. But its Passive has more charges early and the 3AD/5AP is more impactful then 10 health from spellthief's.

Supports first back is going to be so weak unless they double kill the other Bot

Back to season 3 ward bots again

I think they only have to pay the initial 400 gold fee for the starter item. The T2 and T3 upgrades are now free.

Gold items now upgrade on their own for no cost, so its not entirely a gutting.

Toplaners receiving more XP and Assassins receiving more and more items with ~20 Lethality. The game is losing variety because of Assassin's popularity and money generation potential through skins. The Pre Season is going to be SO MUCH FUN.

Yeah some of these new support item changes make me a little confused. Most of those things I assume are just because the items are still early in testing and no where near final. Main one being that the final upgrade completely loses the gold generation passive. It has the Gold per 10 stat but the minion execute and spellthiefs damage for hitting champs/structures is completely removed which makes no sense. Also the diminished gold for "excessive" farming seems to never fall off and just scale down the gold you get more and more as you accumulate farm. Was testing in practice tool though so I'm not really sure how the monster hunter from support items works or if it's based on your gold vs other people on your team or what. All I know is that their unique gold generation things should stay at final form and the diminished gold should probably be removed upon completion as well. Lack of healing from the 2 relic shield types is lame also.

The trade off is that you never have to spend gold to upgrade your support item but with gold generation not scaling up with upgrades and being completely removed at tier 3 that's not going to help building actual items any faster and in actuality will probably be slower than now.
