Why do people think sion is weak?
Considering i am winning at high ranks with sion promos to D1. He has no hard lane matchups what so ever. So why do people think he is weak?

He's sort of lacking in the kit department, as far as i'm aware his late game cc is too slow to be overly useful and his stats aren't good enough to make up for this lack off cc on a heavy tank like him. I'd chalk it up to the Zac problem, not good at carrying games but with the right team behind you amazing. What do I know though, I don't play much Sion anymore and i'm not overly knowledgeable on the game, I mean i didn't even know that inhibs had timer indicators around them and i've been playing since season 2. Either way nothing compares to the old sion, ah how i miss the days of playing ap sion on 3v3 and one shotting the squishy.
He's unpopular.
Thus to the boards which is like 70% sheep, he's underpowered.
Simply as things are, unfortunately.
super low base stats for a tank super easy to dodge skill shots.
Never really heard anyone so far say he's weak. I don't think he is.
exactly thank you! sion was my first champion ever. And ALOT like jayce.. he is very highly underrated. Sion can be considered the first champ i mained. Youre right he really doesnt have any tough match-ups. The toughest in my opinion would be olaf. Just cuz ult and Q cant do much when he ults. But other than olaf i never really have much trouble. Using his ult + Q in teamfights right can be really powerful.
How do you build
in lane? I main him jungle and his laning phase is a struggle when I take him top. Mainly because I can't seem to last hit with my autos and I use too much mana trying to pulling my opponent away (because top lane is always itching for a fight) so that I can't farm with a QW combo (activating my W and Q at similar times to allow an explosion either when the minions are knocked up or right after).
I tend to max his W first in lane (like I do in jungle) to help survive ganks and trades. What do you max and why?
Probably because they don't understand him.
