PSA: Just Play The Game

Looking up ranks etc is actually a detriment to your gameplay. If you look up ranks and see that someone is a higher rank than you, you're going to put them on a pedestal. What this basically does is hinder you from playing naturally. You won't take any risks and will generally play safer because that person is a higher rank so he's obviously "better" than you.

However, if you play vs lower ranked players you'll get an egotistically boost and start making super risky plays because those players are "below" your caliber. This doesn't increase you knowledge or skill level at all. You're basically looking down on people you deem unworthy of opponents, and most often than not, you end up losing vs those very same people.

Some times its better to just kick back and enjoy the game without the stress.

95% of the time I'd agree but I sometimes look up people in the lobby when they have troll picks. Last night dodged twice and ate 35 min timer and 12LP loss rather than:

  1. Guy said he was a smurf, picked sej top, looked him up and he had 15-20 deaths per game doing placements. Called him out saying that's not smurf stats and he said hes trying to place bronze, sorry for being in my first 10 games
  2. Guy goes teemo support with an abysmal win rate on the champ and jackass troll for being put as support deliberately tanking the team to "teach RITO a lesson for making him support" ya ok

Those are legitimate strategies to climbing. :)

I rarely look up anyone on the enemy team. I just look for negative winrate boosted animal on my team.
