Adaptive Helm makes azir completely useless!

TheMedMystery··2 votes·4,024 views

As i was playing a game with Azir, i noticed that i wasn't doing any damage at all to the only tank on the enemy team. even though I was fed and was almost full build. the enemy tank had only one magic resist item, and that was adaptive helm. seeing as how Azir's main damage is his W, the damage he can do is little to nothing now because of that single item. seeing as how tanks kind of got a huge buff this patch, it really makes it hard to do anything when the tank is allowed to literally walk up to me now and chase me away. in my opinion it really isn't fair when Azir's main damage is now gone because of that one item.

But isn't he already useless?

Lemme see your build.

I usually go with this. its a pretty safe build. item 3116 item 3006 item 3115 item 3135 item 3157 item 3089

i know i can go item 3020 instead of item 3006 but the attack speed helps. though i do switch between the two when i need the magic pen.

Fiddle with be the same way. Drain, crows, and ult all hit more than once. This is one of the most retarded items I have seen. Sure it puts a few of the OP mages in line. But it totally screwed a few of the weaker mages.

yeah, and it doesn't help that most tanks that are played are pretty mobile, so they can easily ignore you more than they would have before this item was released.

I see.

Swap your boots for pen and get liandries instead of void staff.

If helm is his only item then Liandries is more valuable.

yeah, that's what i was thinking as well. but its hard when the tank can just ignore your soldiers now and just walk through.

Indeed.

Good thing we can threeshot carries late huh?

I guess, haha. i just don't like that this item just kind of makes DoT mages useless, just a bit.

Yeah, but tbf we had it coming. Tanks had very few mr items compared to armor items.

I don't know because they all get MR per lvl now. So if the have 55 plus 45 from stats that will make 100 MR. So that mean void staff will reduce it by 35. Then if they get boots or another MR item you need void.

Once real issue is that mage cast and done. AD get to melee for a good portion of there damage. So when are abilities take a 20% to 30% nerf then we notice it ALOT more. Because we have to wait 5 to 10 secs to dial good damage again. Now when AD lost damage they don't notice it as bad because they are still doing auto damage.

Now I'm not saying one way is better than the other but it sure is more noticible when you are waiting because your spells are on CD and they are at 40% hp instead of 20%. Than when an AD or ADC is doing 10% a sec rather than 15% a sec.

Mages are going to need more pen or something. Because helm, boots, and one more MR item is going to put them around 200 or more MR

That means you can remove only 100 from items. This is a major issue when comparing to Armor pen counter part.
