Should I try to climb rankings with tryndamere?

I used to be a Susan main, then I kind of strayed away due to stacking and not being able to focus on vs due to trying to get stacks etc. Then I tried to learn zed. He's kind of a tricky one... and my "friend" said not to play zed, he's a mastery 7 yasuo and zed. Anyways he said I'm better with bruisers (fighters) so I got tryndamere. And my first game was amazing. I went 16/5. The next was was 16/7 (or 8 or so), and from there I did really bad suddenly. Then today I started doing good again, then I did bad. I played with some people today and they said not to play tryndamere cause he's bad past silver. Is this true? Should I learn someone else? Who?

Tl;dr: someone said tryndamere is bad past silver. Should I keep maining him

Given there are Tryndamere players in Challanger, of course you can main Tryndamere.

Just play whatever you like to play dude!

Fighters are generally considered to be champions with a mix of damage and tankiness, subclasses are Divers and Juggernauts. Tryndamere is usually considered a Slayer -> Skirmisher as he builds more or less glass cannon and lets his ult keep him alive to deal stupid amounts of damage.

If you like the champion and see success with it then you should play it, even the success part is negotiable since playing the champion more will give you better knowledge of their kit, matchups, and role to find success eventually. You see mains and one tricks of many objectively weak champions make it up to diamond and above just through dedication.

As an example: Annie isn't necessarily a weak champion but she is considered very simple to both play as and against, yet the streamer known as Annie Bot has famously achieved challenger playing only Annie no matter the role he was put into unless she was picked or banned (and that was before role select so it was way more difficult to get mid lane consistently) and consistently makes it to very high elo every single season.

As to Tryndamere specifically, the people you talked to are dead wrong as he has dedicated players all the way up to challenger and is considered possibly THE champion who will give you the biggest bang for your buck in terms climb rate per time spent learning him.

Tl;dr: If you like Trynd, play Trynd.

The problem with Trynd is that you can lose really hard early, if you don't get any crits. Yesterday I played him vs Riven and I had 10 % crit chance runes + AS. Guess what - 0 crits and I died like a dog... Then she killed me again when I came back to lane. The funny thing is that started killing her later after I bought some crit chance and won the game. If you like RNG, play him, but he is not reliable even with crit runes, imo.

lol i'm friends with a guy that climbed to challenger with him. (BoxerPete) Check him out if you want the ultimate guide on how to use him. Also, call him a dirty riven cockroach.

The reason that he's better in lower elo is people don't know how to deal with his splitpushing or with him in lane
