Ryze is still pretty stupid

Ryze has an obnoxious strategy to clear the wave easily with E E Q, back when oom, return to lane, and repeat. It's pretty frustrating taking advantage of a supposedly weak early game, when Ryze can just push the wave whenever it comes to his tower. By upping his Q's mana cost (it currently only costs 40 at all levels), Ryze has to manage his mana more carefully instead of just throwing Q out at any chance.

On the plus side, Ryze gets more health back from RoA.

Edit: So you down vote because you think Ryze is completely fine where he is?

A rework is what he needs.

Silly me, they'll solve all his problems later this season in his upcoming VGU.

TBH I feel like he actually needs some smaller changes. Maybe on the level of the Heimerdinger changes. He's just way too good at pro-play and I blame that mainly on his ultimate.

So a couple of issues I don't get about your post.

First of all, Ryze is a Mage. Clearing waves more effectively than other classes is what they do. In fact, assuming they aren't trying to just cheese their laner, most Mages leave the lane after shoving it and roaming. That's literally one of the defining traits about mid lane; setting up roams. If all the Ryzes you've been facing have just been shoving until OOM and backing, they're either bad and you're worse, or they're trying to cheese you which puts this entire thread into question because your emotions are getting in the way.

And he does have a weak early game. There's no supposedly anything about that, his weak early game is supported by facts and statistics, more than I can say of your thread so far.

And mana costs aren't even going to solve the problem you are pointing out because Ryze's schtick is building more mana than normal, and the main culprit is clearly his E not his Q.

Ryze clears exceptionally well. This is because it doubles as harass, and has little cooldown. His early game is weak, but still very safe, due to his good wave clear and self peel. His E's mana cost is already 100 at level 5, I doubt it should be raised any higher. Q on the other hand, can be spammed again and again with virtually no cooldown.

Also, his win rate is probably being deflated heavily by noobs. Using your own cited source, I see that a overwhelming majority of Ryze ranked players only have 1-5 games under their belt this season.

Once again, you just described most Mages.

Safe doesn't mean powerful. Especially since statistics show that, if anything, he's still failing anyway.

Also, I don't suppose you know that Ryze max their E second. Mentioning its Level 5 stats makes no sense since the laning phase should be over by then, and you could just increase his lower leveled Es instead of higher leveled Es.

E max is just as viable, if not more than Q max. This is because investing points in E not only gives Ryze more damage, had he put his points in Q, but it also lowers the cooldown of E. The MS/shield per level from Q has been nerfed, so Q max isn't all that good. There are more benefits to maxing E than Q.

I don't think you know much about Ryze, if your only argument is statistics (which aren't all that reliable). People who think Ryze is bad are probably the same ones dragging down his win rate in the first place.
