Warwick's recommended item for jungling is Hunter's Machete and Rejuvenation beads

As in, no potions. He has so much sustain in the jungle with his Q (and technically passive, but he doesn't really lose much HP to make use of his passive healing during first clear).

This will definitely be useful for new junglers, although I'm not sure what this would mean for higher elos.

I'm pretty sure that he lost sustain in the jungle. Currently his passive does the same thing, but it will no longer stack or activate until below 50% hp. He'll probably stay healthy anyways.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oATp9gxKg8 His Q keeps him at about 80% health for the most of the first clear, and he can clear raptors without going back. He comes out with like 50% HP.

If he took his E at lvl 3, wouldn't the raptors have been even easier and finish with more health after that portion of the clear? Reduced damage + Fear on all the raptors while he has a chance to heal back life with Q and finish off Big Bird? Or is the second point in Q going to be necessary for red buff? Just seems like overkill with smite giving you a heal as well.

Maybe that's how it'll be balanced for both low and high elos? Warwick has a lot of jungle sustain, but too much for high elos that they can't make full use out of the sustain?

I'm sure Higher Elo will have a stronger work around.

It doesn't really seem like warwick will need the sustain from potions. I don't really like the Rejuvenation bead however, mainly cause I really can't thing of a good item for warwick that it builds into. (I don't think extra sustain from warmog's is necessary, maybe Righteous Glory)

I think a pro build might try to pocket the 150 extra gold, in hopes to get a stronger second purchase after an early back. Or they might purchase a few control wards.

Tiamat uses two long swords and a rejuvenation bead. I think he'd be a good Titanic Hydra user.

He did indeed lose sustain in the jungle. Without a leash and sub-par runes (scaling armor/MR/AD) i would have died without smite against red buff. His Q is honestly a VERY strong sustain tool though; most people should start with it first, then get your W, then one point in E (its a one point wonder tbh...) and max Q/W.

TBF rejuv bead actually heals more than potions after a relatively short amount of time. The reason potions are generally chosen is because they provide health back faster and keep your overall HP higher in the situation of an invade. I know there are times as Vi where I finish my clear with 1-2 potions left and she isn't even meant to sustain.

I'm gonna do some calculations because you got me curious. Check my maths in case I did something wrong, please.

3 potions heal for 450 HP over 45 seconds. 3 biscuits heal for 540 HP over 49.5 seconds. 2 charges of refillable potion heal for 250 HP over 24 seconds. All are clearly longer than a full clear, which take about 2 minutes.

Rejuvenation potion increases HP regen by 50%. In the video, the full clear took 2 minutes and 17 seconds. We don't know the new base stats yet, but if it's gonna match 450HP over 137 seconds, his average base HP regen would have to be at least 33hp/5. I'm pretty sure potions are better unless you're going back after first clear (which is pretty common path), or an obscene amount of sustain like Warwick or Fiddlesticks.

Sorry, clarification: Rejuv bead is better if you don't depend on potions, which a lot of junglers don't. WW currently has 8.3 health/5 With rejuv bead that beats 3 potions after just over 500 seconds or 8 minutes. Of course health regen increases as you level so I think it actually breaks even after about 7 minutes. In the 2 minute clear that restores about 100 HP.

If we compare to Rejuv is breaks even with the first two pots at 300 seconds. Of course rejuv potions regen so I don't think it is comparble to those since their regen average changes based on how much you back.

So 7 minutes of jungling makes Bead > Pots since junglers generally don't take biscuits. It also builds into items like tiamat. In regards to that it is also a 100% gold efficient purchase but we aren't worried about that.

Now most tiamat junglers can clear on refillable, that means that most junglers only need 250 health max in their first clear to clear safely. In comparison to that WW needs 150 less health on the first clear which as a sustain jungler designed for newer champions (who don't know how to kite jg camps) is very reasonable. Personally I would expect a new player to lose 200+ health compared to a knowledgeable jungler. In regards to that WW clear with rejuv bead by someone who knows what they are doing is completely reasonable.

Any jungler who can normally take refillable and survive their clear with at least 150 more health than they feel is too low to risk clearing (after the camp, which means the health at which you would give up, around 20-50 HP for me since you can leave after any attack.) That means rejuv bead functions just as well as refillable for clearing if you normally end a clear with 160-200 HP. Add onto this that smite health for missing HP so the initial hit of rejuv bead isn't as impactful as it seems. Refillable potion is more gold efficient than potions because they keep refilling. The reason not all junglers get them is because some need the extra HP boost of normal pots.

In the same way junglers who only need 100 extra HP in their clear can pick up Rejuv bead because it is better in the long term then refillable because it builds into other items you will have all game, and scales throughout the game too.

So while it is not better health wise for the first clear or two it is not much of a hit to take to get away with in return for healing throughout the game + getting items faster. Most junglers with healthy clears like Vi, Lee, WW, Fid, etc. can get away with it. For sustain junglers like WW and Fid it is completely worth it purely for the gold efficiency/not having to buy pots later or take up another slot.

Really any jungler with inbuilt healing is going to be obscene. Look at old Yorick, I would start with fairy charm for the mana regen and never drop below 80%. The jungle is designed to let pretty much anything clear through it. Those with inbuilt sustain are naturally going to go overboard because that is what they are meant to do.

Right, I forgot to account for the smite heal, too. So for first clear, 3 potions is ideal (probably better than 3 biscuits for buff duration), for second clear, refillable/hunter's potion is best, given they can safely do first clear, and if you have no problem sustaining through first/second clear, rejuv beads are best?

Fondling Gems1 votes

Yeah, so long as you build Tiamat or another item that uses Rejuv bead. Refillable potion is better if you plan to get a hunters potion but most Tiamat junglers don't need a hunters. They want clear speed and don't care about mana/sustain because they don't use much mana and sustain off of lifesteal on the items. That means hunters isn't important and they want clear speed.

Also note that Rejuv bead is stronger in the sense that Tiamat means you take less damage due to very fast clearing, so it will generally make you take less damage if it lets you buy that earlier, leaving you healthier that way too.
