Who the hell thought it was a good idea to have "None" as an option when banning?
You don't have anybody that you hate? Okay, fine with me, but don't waste your ban and ask your team what they would not like to face.

It's almost as if... it's their ban....... and not yours
None should be an option. But I do agree if you don't find anyone worthy of banning you should ask your team if they want something banned.
It's an intimidation factor. The enemy sees you're confident enough to select none and it scares them.
It's used to intimidate the other team and let them know how ~~stupid ~~ alpha you are
they could be Faker......[sg-ezreal]
the reason why i dont ban is because if i ban someone like let's say... teemo... well now someone up top might need to play teemo in order to carry because they're against an auto attacking behemoth.
plus i can play 88.3% of the roster effectively enough to not lose lane
Some people aren't able to ban because their computer's can't run the poorly madr client.
Some people like to live dangerously [slayer-jinx-wink]
They put that in there because of Faker didn't want to ban anyone so he banned the first thing on the list which was Aatrox.
How it usually goes for me.
Someone bans nothing, lanes against X champion then complains about how X champion is cancerous.
Then I just ask why didn't you ban them?
I would rather have someone pick none than feel forced to pick and not bother asking the team, banning the champion i had wanted to play.
Just sayin'
It´s the strategical I don´t give a fuck ban.
Seriously there are resons why you would choose not to ban but I not going to explain this here. Should be selfexplaining anyway. A small hint: opposite to common believes it´s not I´m too cool for bans.
I have started banning the first champion
every game instead just because of that anoying question "why didn´t you ban something".
And no I´m not going to ask every person in every game whether he would be pleased if I offer my ban and gratitude about not being tilted before the game even starts. I have no problem if someone asks me for a ban and if I´m in the mood I might consider such a gift.
Frendly advice I can give to "overly concernt teammates" care about your own stuff and ignore what other people are doing. Nobody likes a smartass and it doesn´t provide anything positive to the game atmosphere.
It's actually quite beneficial as you can learn almost every matchup. If you ban a bad matchup this means you will not be ready to fight them in a situation where are unbanned. I use this tactic a lot and have had a a lot of successes
It's even worst when I type in chat as a suggestion on what we should ban and there will always be that person who ignores it and doesn't ban anything.
Personally I usually never ban because I want to be able to face and beat any opponent and that includes any champion in the game. If I ban Khazix or Kaisa (the only 2 champs i find worthy of a ban right now) the I won't have the chance of using mechanical or strategical superiority to beat an opponent that has superior stats.
I usually use this in normal games, because I play for fun and also I want to learn playing against my hardest matchups which means it is better to ban nothing.
if you miss ban window you dodge the queue but you can choose to ban nothing
riot 4head
Because they decided they needed that slot for reasons and the other option was random
The option exists so Faker can play against Garen
The issue is, if my solo laners are deemed to feed, it doesn't matter who i ban they're still going to lose
Given how little communication actually exists in yolo-Q I can well imagine at least some 'none' banners do so because they're worried about banning out something that their team wants but didn't make known.
I for example perma-ban Shaco. Not because he's OP but I think he's the most toxic, cancerous design League has and I don't want him in my games. I did so once in bad and one of my teamates was upset because he was going to play Shaco- he just hadn't indicated it.
Faker.
