Why is Heimerdinger allowed to exist?

I recently went mid lane against a Heimerdinger. Before I start, let me say that I'm not the type of player who calls any champ who kills him OP. There are only a few champs that I think need nerfs/reworks, and even those are manageable. The problem with donger is a) he requires relatively low skill and b) there is NO counterplay. The only way I have beaten a donger in lane is when thresh or blitz grabbed him out of his turrets. There is no way to get at him, except with maybe Fizz.

One of the things that makes League such a great game is the champion diversity and the variety of ways to play. No matter what champ there is, I can always count on being able to adapt to a new strategy or pick a different champ. With donger, this type of counterplay does not exist.

I love how normally champs are easy to learn, hard to master. There is no skill cap on donger. Anyone can turret spam and win.

Why is donger allowed to exist this way?

As a mid main, I agree. The only way I've been able to beat Heimer mid is with Fizz/Akali/Kat where I have to burst him and then run for my life.

Play Xerath or Ziggs and throw stuff at him. Alternatively, play an assassin and burst him down. Also, you are wrong; I cannot play Heimerdinger worth one single damn. :P Seriously, I understand why he'd be strong but I have no idea how to make his kit work in practice.

Getting good will serve you better than complaining man! :D

He is quite boring to play as (for me) and against (for most people), but not OP, at all. (As for skill cap, the grenade is quite hard to land). He is nude without any turret around him, squishy and immobile. As for mana problems... meh, not really his biggest issue, but after laning phase, assuming your team doesn't stay in the same place for too long and he doesn't have time to put down his turrets, you can make him relatively easy to deal with.

You don't beat a Heimerdinger in lane, you try to farm and outscale. He's terribly boring and annoying to lane against but he's useless after laning phase.

Its almost like thats entirely the point.... Extreme lane dominance, in exchange for always pushing the laning and falling off badly late game.

Counterpicking isn't counterplay. Even if you destroy a turret there are still 2 more..Not that it matters since he can drop another readily.

I get that he's a lane bully and you're not supposed to go near him and his turret nest.. What I find ridiculous is having to dodge missiles and grenades miles away from him even if I'm under my tower while he's safe in his nest. Ganks are not much help either if not entirely useless.

And he doesn't fall of late game whatsoever. His pushing and zoning abilities are relevant at all stages of the game. A zhonyas and GA and he's practically untouchable and if you do manage to kill him you can be sure his turrets will take you down with him.

Hiemer is extremely stupid for the following reason:

Unless hes against Lux or Syndra, all he needs to do is stand there after he puts up his turrets. You cant go in on him and your jungler cant gank him. Destroyed a turret, well he puts another one right back up. Late game he ults a turret and zhonyas. that turret is gonna get atleast one kill.

He really does take the least skill in the game, because atleast as Kat, Fiora, and Yi you have to move around and decently pick your spots to get kills.

Fizz/Akali/Kat/Diana/Liss/Syndra. Just requires different style is all.
