Is there something up with the servers or is it just me?

I've been noticing some slightly higher ping as of late. Normally I would attribute that to my internet not being great but then some friends of mine were saying they were also having issues with ping being slightly higher so I just want to know if this is a problem that other people are having, if riot is having an issues and knows about this, or if this i just random coincidence.
