A friend of mine mains Kayle, like, whoever hes vs, whatever the lane, hes kayle.
Hes good, I duo with him,
But a lot of the time, he simply cant carry, but he says "Late game, late game, late game"
It's all I hear from him,
But he's too stubborn to take my advice.

Sounds to me like he needs to work on his positioning. Kayle can do a whole lot, particularly late game, but if you don't have the right positioning you won't have the lead you need in order to carry.
In the end, though, it really just depends on whether he's having fun. I play Garen like he plays Kayle when I can. Learning new matchups, and mastering matchups that should be bad for me is what it's all about. I don't want to see how far I can go, I want to see how far Garen can take me.
It sounds like your friend might be the same way. If you really think he needs advice try getting him to look at his own play. Convince him to get a game recording program and replay matches to see where he can improve at. This will not only help him become a better Kayle, but it will teach him how to better reflect on his own mistakes during a match.
