No champ should be able to build 5 tank items and still do a crapton of damage

Irelia builds trinity force, then goes randuins, merc treads, warmogs, spirit visage and frozen mallet. Said irelia is able to solo kill enemy yasuo who has statikk shiv, infinity edge, berserkers greaves, botrk, bloodthirster and guardian angel. why is this allowed to be a thing? buy building tanky items, you're sacrificing damage. not with bruisers though, they build all tank and still do ridiculous damage.

aight then how about the corki who has tri force, botrk, sorc shoes, infinity edge, guardian angel and bloodthirster? he isnt an assassin, what gives? why is he not able to kill an enemy champ that has one offense item?

if both are full build, corki should easily be able to kill irelia. maybe not 1v1 but in a full team fight with peel and a front line he shouldn't have a problem with a full defense irelia.

Because it's the mid game, and Irelia has one of the strongest mid games in the game. If it's late game, you're lying to me.

ADCs should never be trying to fight 1v1 against most enemies (Vayne may be the exception though, she's a good duelist). Corki in particular will begin to fall off on the damage front once most players have got 5+ items anyways.

Champion A with two expensive, offensive items and a bunch of great defense defeats Champion B, a squishy-ass assassin who built full glass-cannon except for a single defensive item with the worst base stats in it's category in the game.

Nothing unexpected here.

If no champion should be able to build 5 defensive items and deal significant damage, then why do you expect to build 5 offensive items and survive significant damage?

And bruisers do sacrifice damage. Have you seen some bruisers try to kill a full-tank or one another? It's pretty much a wet-noodle fight.

Exactly. Somehow dealing damage with 5 defensive items is broken, but surviving damage with 0 defensive items is not.

If they have damage that scales off a defensive stat, it's certainly possible. If they have % max hp damage on a low cooldown it's even more likely. If they build items like Abyssal which give both offensjve and defensive stats as the 5 "tank" items it's going to happen often.
