Cinderhulk Udyr Overrated?

This is for everyone who jungled Udyr with Devourer prior to Cinderhulk update.

It still very much works. I love Devourer Udyr, but haven't played it in a while since apparently Cinderhulk Udyr is the new "Meta". Haven't been able to get a score like this plus a quadra kill, with Cinderhulk.

Thoughts?

one game = all the proof you need to be able to say something is overrated apparently

I have multiple on pbe and main client alike using devourer again; and all my stats are better than when I switched to cinderhulk.

wait... are you getting better stats with Devourer or with Cinderhulk? since the thread pretty much implies you are getting better scores/performance with Devourer Udyr than with Cinderhulk Udyr

Better Stats with Devourer

Everything is situational, fuck the sheep.

In that particular game you had a Gragas AND a Volibear on your team, who are both very tanky, in addition to the lowest-damage dealing ADC in the whole game, Ashe, and a very snowball reliant mid... Kat.

If you built Cinderhulk, your team would have lacked damage output and would be overly tanky. You don't need Cinderhulk Udyr when you already have a tank Gragas and Volibear. You need a bruiser Udyr with high damage output, just as you built and that is why your team won.

However, if you had Volibear Support and you had a non-tanky top such as Teemo instead of Gragas, then yes Cinderhulk would have been needed in that game because your team would have lacked much needed tankiness.

EDIT: That is what makes Udyr so amazing. He can be played at the highest level as either a tank or damage-dealer. Very versatile. I wouldn't say Devourer or Cinderhulk is better, because that is dependent upon the situation. Unlike people that mindlessly build Cinderhulk every damn game.

Not really. You would've been better off with literally anything else. Even Magus for the CDR and extra Phoenix burn.

68 wins less than losses... That's like... Low silver elo? Anyways, gratz if it works out for you, but I don't think it's the better item for Udyr. While warrior has its strengths, I think devourer fits better on a AA dependant champ (assuming you go tiger, because if not, why even go warrior?). And if you go phoenix, cinderhulk is obviously the way to go.

Eh. I don't think my wins and losses should matter. It'd be different but like most new League players I jumped right into PVP without knowing what I was doing. And I'm not comparing Warrior to anything? Devourer and Cinder, sir.

Don't really get the Tiger stance meta, I always R>W>R>W>E>R>W>E for AoE+durability while jungling, then get my E started for teamfights. If my team lacks a tank I build Cinderhulk>Frozen Mallet>Warmog's Armor and then focus resistance based on opposing builds. If we need a brawler I go Warrior>Morellonomicon>Warmog>Titanic Hydra and finish with attack speed. Thoughts?
