Lucian was overnerfed

In lucians old state, he was essentially just a better version of graves. He had more burst (This is debatable), more mobility, more range, less mana problems, and a better lategame. This was a problem.

But, after Lucians onslaught of nerfs, graves is essentially just a better Lucian. Graves now has more burst, less mana issues, a better lategame, Lucian still has more mobility and range, but not by much.

I do admit it is better now than it was before, as they do each have their own respective traits that they are good at now, but lucians numbers are just too low. After 4 patches of nerfs, its just too much.

Riot look at the statistics. After 4.21 literally everyone switched to graves, including myself. They are way to similar right now and as it is whoever has better numbers is picked almost all the time.

I don't think Graves being better than Lucian means Lucian was overnerfed at all. Graves is basically the best ADC in the game right now, so Lucian being worse should be expected.

If their kits are too similar for both to be simultaneously viable then they need to differentiate them rather than making one better.

I remember seeing a lot of Lucian players a few months ago before the nerfs and he was pretty good at harassing the enemy adc and support early games. Now he's more of a late game champion, though I think he does need some help for his early game, just not that much. From what I've seen, his strength lies in farming rather than kills since, how his q and minions work, he's able clean out more minions than you are able to, assuming you're champions like Miss Fortune, Tristana, or even Graves. To say that Graves is a better version of Lucian isn't really the best way to put it as both have their own advantages such as Graves is pretty much "Go in, pop, hold ground" where as Lucian is more "Poke, poke, go in, dodge, poke" and I have seen many late game Lucians make Graves unable to hold his ground to get his passive up to be useful.

tl;dr Lucian has bad early game, but is a beast late game if you can double your opponent's farm in the same amount of time.

Graves/Lucian suffer from the same problem as Diana/Akali - they compete for the same game real-estate.

I thought that Riot was initially going in a good direction with Lucian by lowering the cooldown on his E in hopes of making him a hit-and-run ADC, as opposed to a burst-ADC. I saw it as a brilliant opportunity for Riot to deliver on the promise of his concept, but then when the hyper-mobility combined with his damage proved too much, they decided to gut his mobility again instead of touching his burst. The problem with Lucian will always be the Q-passive combo until its values are sufficiently low to give other ADCs a fighting chance in a trade against him.

Basically, whomever has the superior burst potential will always eclipse the other because of how similarly their kits function.

Lucian is just fine... There are just better picks than him now since he was nerfed justly. Now Graves and Corki are top picks, with Ezreal and Cait just behind them ( as usual ). Just because Lucian is picked less and can't op the enemy team doesn't mean he was overnerfed. Now you have to, GASP, try to carry your team instead of carrying your team by being op.

Graves has worse mana issues but he's a better champion.

Lucian still has a better ULT as it's more team focused whereas Graves is a pump and dump. I think they balanced him well.
