Rumble in the jungle...

So I've been trying this to get an S because crate...Anyways I feel like he clears super fast, does a lot of damage, is really effective at ganking...However, for whatever reason, I've had bad luck with him. (minus last game where I kinda derped). He feels strong all around, but for some reason my teams objectives are crumbling hard (front towers) and it's causing pretty swift losses.

Anyways, wondering if anyone had any advice. I play a lot of junglers, and honestly and quite surprisingly, he's easier to successfully gank with than most JGs. The W speed boost is just enough to get into flame range. I also run unsealed spellbook, and the extra utility really secures ganks hard.

I'd say the largest weakness is I just feel really squishy, and I guess partially I am. I push Rylai's and Liandries out but no real armor/mres.

Anyways running Unsealed Spellbook->Magical Footwear->Biscuit Delivery-Cosmic Insight Gathering Storm->Ultimate Hat.

Biscuits really help keep a healthy clear/ganks early. I know I'm sacrificing a ton of damage by running this rune set overall, but again, I feel like I'm doing a lot more damage in ganks than with other junglers.

I realize he's considered trash, no one uses him in JG etc. But again, as a jungler, he just honestly feels strong.

Also as someone that played a lot of WW/Yi/Xin I'm breaking CS records with this lil bugger. 5 days ago most team jungle minions killed per min 52 minutes ago best CS diff per min after 30 mins

Anyways, any advice would be appreciated, maybe it's my build, which so far has almost exclusively been Runic Echos->Sorc Shoes->Rylais->Liandries->Morellonomicon (haven't run into many tanks) I was thinking of switching shoes up to defensive, but again, haven't run into any real tanks and I like the flat pen...Just looking for some ideas, he can be a little awkward as manaless. I also realized I should be giving more blue buffs away as they really do nothing for Rumble.

Everything just feels a little off, and I think it's rooted in what items I'm building.

Thanks!

I got to mastery 7 only playing rumble in the jungle

His Q CD nerf really hurt his jungling but it still isnt the worst

Something I would suggest is if you aren't, max W second instead of E. It helps with your jungle clear a lot and it helps your survivability a lot. If you get blue smite then you don't really have a reason to max E second since you're getting rylai's anyway.

Also, I would say go into the sorcery primary and running Aery and Transcendence with biscuits and insight. There isn't a lot of CDR available to rumble and rumble gets really strong with levels and anything you can do to decrease your Q/Ult CD will help you out dramatically. He's good at powerfarming camps so levelling won't really be as much of an issue.

Getting boots early on will help you as well. He has no mobility so if you can at least get boots on your first back it will help you with ganking and moving through the jungle.

The downside to rumble is that he has no hard cc, tankiness, mobility, can be kited, and he has crap for sieging towers, so team composition has a fair chunk of how successful you can be with him.

Thanks, loading up a game now, I switched secondary to defensive, but will try this next run. Also yeah, it's the lack of tankiness that I can really feel. Sticking to them with exhaust, ghost etc. hasn't been much of an issue, but E and Rylais also does the trick. I do max W second already though.

Did some switching up to close the weak points I mentioned, mainly defense, and added your advice on top. Really felt...dominant tbh. he has so much presence. He may not have crazy gap closers but the spam W gets him around the map fast and Rylais adds slow on top of the base E and R and chilling smite making him really good at making enemies slugs. Teammates seem really aware too so they do follow up even if they'd usually think the enemy was lost.

I went Sorc as you suggested Summon Aery->Ultimate Hat->Transcendence->Scorch Resolve->Bone Plating->Conditioning (to close up that squishy feel some, which seemed to help a lot)

Build changes Sorc shoes->Defensive boots. Added Zhonyas Added Banshees Kept Runic Echos+Rylais Dumped Lyandries entirely, felt too weak even with Rylais and went with Morellonomicon instead.

Obviously exact build fluctuates based on opponent, but overall these items felt real good.

General build items, some differences based on opponent, feels a lot meatier and still honestly powers through enemies. Really liking rumbles overall power and map presence. Gave up on the S since I was too involved in fighting and wasn't getting the CS for it, then got the S- anyways the next game.

Basically changed up the build a great deal for defense, took your advice on runes, and he felt much more well rounded but still like a bully. Honestly, not what I expected from a champion that doesn't even show up as a jungler in statistics sites and has no jungle guides.

I went from trying to get an S to adding a new jungler to my roster, and kind of like Warwick he feels like one of those champions that doesn't really have to worry too much about being counter picked.

Thanks!

On a side note, he took 3 of my records: https://i.imgur.com/gxF38EM.png

I'm glad to see things worked out well for you! I hope you keep finding more success with him, he's super fun to play!

Glad I could be of some help!

For some reason, edits screw up every ' on this forum. Anyways maybe more defensive runes, since I'm doing a lot of damage on ganks would be the way to go...Something like swapping out Gathering Storm/Ultimate hat for Bone Plating/Conditioning.

Also, I get that rumbles considered total crap right now, but A. I want my S and B. He really doesn't feel like crap when playing him...
