I just played with 2 junglers who died once and then trolled

Game 1 both me and my toplaner had priority and my jungler decided to check their blue. Olaf finished both his buffs super early and dumpstered Graves. But, we were on our way and he chased halfway up the river from his blue buff so he died. Then, he flamed his laners for not having priority, and called them shit players if they don't play around the jungle since it's the most important role in the game now. To punish his midlaner for not shoving as fast as me, he taxed at least 2 waves from her.

Game 2 my Graves invaded Shyvana (red to blue) and killed her there. She responded by... invading Graves? We had priority again and killed her so she responded by complaining that the game has too much damage, snowballs too hard, the game is now unwinnable because of her deficit, and it's killing League. Then, she ran down my lane, inted a kill, and went afk.

Honestly it was a terrible series and here are a few thoughts I've had on the subject.

  1. Doesn't matter if you're my opponent or teammate. I want a real game. I know the whole, "Do you want a toxic, good player or positive, bad player on your team?" used to be a question and frankly, I'd go for the positive, bad player. The bad player still has enough fight in him to turn around matches if he is able to accept criticism and play a supporting role in the game. If the toxic player lets his ego get in the way, the game is unenjoyable. I would've rather lost D5 and played some full, 20-30 minute games than sit there 5 minutes in because someone decides the game is unwinnable after 1 kill.
  2. I'm not saying she's right or wrong, but I do think it was interesting that Shyvana espoused boards' ideology on game health.
  3. What I honestly think is killing League is the fact it has a non-competitive, or at least chill original playerbase clashing with a hyper-competitive playerbase, and it's making for miserable games. The hyper-competitive player tends to think that nobody on his team is trying as hard as he is, and is willing to do something drastic to punish you for how they feel punished. The midlaner from that Shyvana game said he was uninstalling League after that because it's extremely immersion breaking when all 5 of you really have to get into the game and some dick decides to make it something you can't win because he's unhappy. I don't blame him.
  4. I've seen this behavior from every role but most recently it's coming from the jungler the vast majority of the time. It's extremely frustrating, especially when the meta for junglers (or at least the preferential playstyle) is pick something that can carry and vacuum the resources.

I don't know where I'm at for League right now. I really don't believe that the snowballing is as bad as they say, nor is the damage. However, I do feel like League is slowly being killed by a bunch of people who DO believe this is true, and they believe it so firmly they're going to run it down or open mid 5 minutes in because they just want to get to the next game. It's sad, because Riot is trying their damnedest to get rid of the ADC meta, and bring back the personal ability to carry games, and they have. Bruisers are really strong again and in low elo if you get filled into adc you can literally pick Jax right now and see not just moderate but CONSISTENT success. I don't like this meta, but because I can play my champs, it's whatever. I'd stick around. Mages have been a strong pick with a number of contenders in the lane for years. If I have to pick supporty/utility mids, I'll adapt.

What really hurts is the blatant toxicity. I really wish Riot could/would do something about that because the game doesn't knowball half as hard as people think it does, and their perceptions are making the game 10x worse than balance already is. It actually makes me want to quit playing far more than ardent meta ever did.

I didn't read the whole thing, just the 2 situations.

But anyways, I really wish I could say I was innocent of this, but I've been hella guilty of it lately. I really like to play my tank junglers like Zac and sejuani and am complete assballs with carry type or fighter junglers (I can do ok with Akali and Diana jungle sometimes) and when you get raped at the level 2 scuttle, the knowledge that your next 20 minutes is going to be you being completely worthless is terrible.

R.i.p. tank junglers but for real the ability to be completely invalidated so early into a game is pretty bullshit
