Nautilus W at Level 1

the damage reduction is extremely SEVERE at level 1, and by no means i see any actual reason to reduce it from 40 to a pathetic 15.

"Buh-buh-buh-BUT they reduced the E cooldown! isn't that enough?!"

in order to get the benfit of E, you need to max it, that's the rule!

i'm more than sure that every nautilus starts W, it's another universal rule.

but if Riot truly insists on reducing the damage from W to E, then all i'm saying is give him his 40 damage at level 1, it's the only thing that bothers me so much, like, i don't care if the damage is reduced at later levels (like from W level 2 and above) i just feel that the level 1 W should remain the same, especially that you don't get to actually use it that much (you only can hit around 2-3 hits before creeps take it off, but there's a trick where you can use your E and still manage to get a forth hit, but nvm that)

that First level reduction fom 40 to a 15, is just too much, nautilus is known for his weak early.

now i'm ok with the fact that they reduced it so they buff his E, but i still VERY STRONGLY think Riot should consider STILL making his level 1 at 40 damage, while applying that (25-) damage reduction to the rest of his W level ups.

that seems rather balanced, his W is strong at level 1, weaker as you level up, but has a much better health scaling, while his E is weak at level 1, but gets stronger as you level up the spell

i've mained nautilus for far than i could remember, and i'd hate to have such a big change on him without considering what we might lose

Lane nautilus is also a thing.

From one Nautilus main to the other, I agree. Nautilus' first clear was never amazing, and he can get countered somewhat easily depending on the opponent. With this change, taking E over W early means Nautilus gets wrecked by mobs while he clears. Maxing W means he takes about 10 years to clear camps.

That hasn't really been my experience with it on the PBE. I'm actually having slightly better and safer clears. I mean, think about your clears, and how ungodly fast the shield pops early. You aren't really getting much damage out of it, so you have to spend a lot of time just autoing creeps. The E cooldown change actually helps a lot because you're getting more damage that the creeps can't just immediately pop.

but what they did, they give us a shield that's weak early, and does close to nothing , with an oddly high cooldown

if you're going to give us a 15 damage, that's not scaling with something like Attack damage (nautilus RARELY buys AP, so it's more or less useless there) NOR did they fixes the Ratios, so if i wanted to play AP naut, i'd still get Damage actually working around

now i'm not against his E, but it's not justified enough to destroy his W.

thing is, what you see here, is a better clear, what i see here is nomore shield rampaging lane nautilus (which was my favorite and was highly dependable on naut's Early damage on W)

I don't play lane Naut, and I can't say I tried it on the pbe. I could see it being worse. The E spam might work there because it's less vulnerable to being popped and it still gives good pushing, but mana problems would probably rise up.

I can only speak as a jungle Naut player who builds almost full tank, and from that point of view, I like having E not be mediocre. The shield still makes me tanky, but I don't risk all my damage if it gets popped, my clear is unaffected, and I have higher sustained CC and damage. I'm happy enough with that.

Well, you will have a safer clear now because of the lower damage on the monsters.

meanwhile every other tank jungler got a buff without a nerf

and they already have a highimpact early/mid/late and probably a higher clear speed (just look at it)

Hmm thanks for commenting but still...if i dont try it myself i cant know. To me it seems that it sucks:S

Well, it just got a level 1 buff to 30 damage on the PBE, so it's even better now. I'd be optimistic.

Titan's Wrath (W) damage increased to 30/40/50/60/70 from 15/30/45/60/75 [Note: Still reduced vs the live value of 40/55/70/85/100]

If it does 15 damage, it may as well just do no damage at all. Like, Orianna's passive does that much damage at level 1 (10 + 15% AP... and most mid-laners start with 20-30 AP from just AP quints and runes/masteries)

it progress, deals 75 damage at level 5

... by which point Orianna is still almost equaling it. At level 10 her passive is 34 + 15% AP, and by then she should have about 150 AP, so it's dealing 56/67/78 damage.

Everyone has argued that this is a buff to him and that it's perfectly fine, but lane Nautilus is nerfed by this, and these changes nerf jungle Nautilus' early game but buff his late game, he can't really take much more to his early game, where he struggles the most.

Well with a leash gromp goes down without losing much health, you hit level 2 have w and e, I use health seals and quints, Ap glyphs and attack speed marks. Easy second clear and I don't out right max either w or e and don't take q till 4. Becoming a fan of E early though because most benefit from W doesn't come until mid game after you've built a good amount of health and a touch of Ap

still, the level 1 W damage is extremely important to a limit you cannot imagine

think of it this way.

in 40 damage, in 2 seconds, meaning you will do 20 magic damage per second, which is rewarding when you build tanky, because the shield gets stronger and it lasts longer.

now that it got nerfed, you do 15 damage OVER 2 seconds, that's 7.5 magic damage per second (dare you to count the enemy magic res?)

when you try to buff someone, you don't take, 1 power from a skill, and put it into another skill, no.

you make the champion as a whole balanced!
