I miss Tank meta. When fights lasted more than the .1 seconds it takes for EVERY champ to one shot you. If only we knew back then what we know now

Assassins were about the only class that wasn't overtly viable back in the tank meta, since now the backline had at least one tank back there for a bodyguard in nearly every match. Diversity was pretty great, all things considered. Sejuani was the most powerful champ around, and she (infamously) got nerfed down pretty quick for it.
Right now, I wish a too-strong Sejuani was the worst of my problems on the Rift.

AirKingNeo5 votesWe aren't even in an assassin meta. We haven't had one since pre-Ekko release. Personally I'd love season 5, pre-sated or even the sated patches since both teams had it therefore it was "balanced" to a point. Darius, Skarner, and Garen busted? That's 3 bans not 11 needed.
Regardless, the game is still in a balance-able state. Giving most champions +2-4 armor and MR would fix many things, but other champions need more or changes to armor/mr-per-level too. Reducing lifesteal on Warlords and Bloodthirster to 17% (also lifesteal items costs and AD are reduced now), nerfing Lord Doms/Mortal Reminder, and removing and replacing critical strike chance would fix AD carries. Nerfing Morellonomicon and Void Staff while reducing costs of Luden's and Deathcap would fix many problems with mages. Reducing CDR on tank itemization would fix tanks. Making Sterak's Gage melee only fixes fighters because you can buff it, also make it stack with Maw again since ADCs can't have both. Assassins need champion fixes to fix the class. I'm not sure how to fix defensive supports. Though Malzahar's W change should be reverted so he doesn't work support.
TLDR:
Base resists up on everyone
down in lifesteal, 
down in price by a chunk, 5 less AD.
nerfed. Preferably is removed from the game due to being unhealthy.
Crit removed and replaced.

Though, it's more of a "Burst damage meta" where it's not always assassins which are dominating the meta, but it's about who can reliably deal damage in the smallest amount of time. How much they do is almost irrelevant, because it's pretty much always enough to kill the target.

deadlychuck2 votesWell the W change alone didn't do it. It was the rework of the kit as a whole which cause it to be effective. If his voidlings didn't function as they do post-rework then he wouldn't be in the same situation.
When the reworks aren't better though, i don't see why riot stick so hard to their decision and refuses to revert it. You guys made a bad call, people would respect them more if they owned up to the mistakes instead of trying to justify that the ends justify the means.

Xx420n0sc0p3sxX3 votessej and gragas were pretty annoying, but I agree. I know its a board circlejerk to love the season 5 tank meta, but it was pretty good (keep in mind this is pre-juggernauts). Some roles were weak (assassins), but every role was pretty viable. games were diverse. admittedly tanks were really good, but you could still play everything.

I was around for the glorious Cinderhulk tank back in '15 where the only problem champs were Sej, Gragas & Top lane Cinderhulk Sion. There was the damn Iceborn/Sunfire tank meta early last year. And I do believe we are in or were in a CotC tank meta. I'm not sure, I don't really pay attention. I assume you're referring to the Cinderhulk meta.

But the problem back then was also too much damage for tanks who were for most passively nearby melting me, like I was at the beach in a hot summers day, with the small difference of being 1m away from the sun.

Also I've had three tanks on the enemy team for the last 5 games and I think the tank meta is coming back. It's a bullshit meta.
