Veigar - I believe he needs some changes

First off, I'll be starting with this - YES I am posting this due to having lost to a Veigar last game, but that isn't the point.

I'd like to say that Veigar has the potential to be interactive with higher skilled players but just the potential itself would not make Veigar interactive. His laning phase to start off, is just stacking up his AP for the most part. Using his Q as often as he can, he is just a safe version of Nasus. (Aka not very interactive) His mid game is okay but in his late game, all he has to do is press Ult to assassinate a carry or to chunk a tank, press e to zone or stun the entire enemy team, press w to burst champions who are encaged in his huge cage, and his q that serves as a means to just add a little chunk of damage.

From the statement above, I'll be highlighting some sections.

  1. When I said "Veigar is just a safe version of Nasus." - I say this due to the inability for him to really get bullied out of farming with his Q early game, and the inability to do much against him late game. He is ranged, and therefor can keep on stacking even if attempts of harrassing is made towards him early, and due to his e and his insane burst potential (with just one point and click ability) he is able to prevent being dove.
  2. His other abilities just being a plus to his main purpose. If he presses ult to kill an enemy squishy, his job is done. His other abilities feel like filler episodes in terms of anime. (btw fuck the 30+ filler episodes at the end of Naruto)
  3. Even IF you are able to successfully able to bully Veigar out of lane with who knows what means, he is able to create a huge zoning cage no matter how far behind he is. Although maybe not as useful as one, but he is able to press e, and will contribute massively to teamfights despite being extremely behind. Although the concept of feast or famine is despised, I believe he provides too much feast, for how little famine he provides. I

Here are some examples of champions who were reworked (or nerfed) due to having "lack of interaction" are - -Taric: His point and click based kit was deemed uninteractive and was changed. -Shen: His Q was -Viktor: His E made his laning phase "too uninteractive" -Malzahar: I'm not sure if he was changed due to this reason but his rework was interesting to say the least. Some good things, some weird things, and also brought him a weird phase of Jungle Malzahar.

I believe that Veigar should be changed in some way, with at the bare minimum, a rework to his ult.

Just a post that I think was interesting https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/EeyRLnYE-anyone-else-feel-some-reworks-are-just-removing-the-champs-we-once-loved-instead-of-bettering-them

And if you views the comments, you can find some people talking about Veigars interactiveness https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/QFYnQcOO-viktor-nerfed-for-being-uninteractive

Tl; Dr - Veigar's ult is not interactive by the slightest means. I believe that a change to his ult would be a good idea.

you initiate onto veigar, he dies. he can not defend himself.

he needs a team to function. you will never see a 1v5 veigar outplay.

Veigar has too much counterplay, your arguments are invalid as all veigar's abilities were rendered incredibly teammate-reliant. His Q is a skillshot and can be dodged, it used to be point & click. His W takes forever to land and needs to be used with a CC. His E used to be near-instant (0.25 s cast time, no indicators). Now it has delay and indicators. His R used to be flat damage increased with AP of opponent, now it relies HEAVILY (up to double damage) on your opponent being low, meaning you NEED teammates or to have landed skillshots before...

Which makes Veigar insanely dependent on his team and he has no play potential whatsoever, an extremely sad rework. And he doesn't feel less bullshit at all, because to compensate this, they had to buff his damage, cooldowns and manacosts so he doesn't get 35% winrate.

And all this, because guys like you complain about "no counterplay"? He's like the guy with the most counterplay in the game. Even his ult can be counterplayed with zhonyas, untargetability.

Your feast and famine argument is worthless btw, Veigar doesn't provide any feast at all compared to many other champions. If he's overfed, he can still miss his skillshots and get 1v1'ed and destroyed by a Zed with 5 levels down, or anything. Veigar missing his shit makes him worthless. He's less famine because he has a bunch of utility with his stun, but that's just base kit, not prone to feasting at all.

If you look for feasting, try snowbally champions like Jax, Master Yi, Riven etc. with consistent reliable damage output.
