Can somebody who is qualified (pref challenger, but master+ fine) tell me how the game is played?

I have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing in any given phase of the game. I mostly need a macro run through on an average game. Micro play I think I have to practice and work on by myself, but I'm open to common mistakes at my elo (low silver-high bronze).

Masters+ players play a totally different game. They play against OTHER Masters+ players. There's a different meta, different pathing, more focus on wave management and vision control. Having grandmaster macro in bronze isn't going to to help much if the bronze players you're facing aren't doing the things a grandmaster is trying to counteract.

If you really want help, you should ask a high silver or low gold player. They're at least playing at a similar level, just slightly higher. Don't set your sights on GM and play like you're already there, you need to work your way up.

The whole point is that they play a different, better game than bad tier.

They also play against the same opponents more often than any of us and even if you follow everything they say there is still a huge probability that it just won't work at lower elos. They are playing with better teammates and against better opponents so based of that they can predict what each of them is going to do based on the situation, thanks to them playing each with and against each other so often. So trying to replicate that isn't going to help when you have no idea how your teammates or your opponents are going to act.

You also more than likely won't have the mechanical prowess that those high elo players do so you will end up screwing up plays that in their eyes are "simple". So the most they will give you that you can actually use effectively is literally something that even an iron player would be able to tell you.

True, but it is a DIFFERENT GAME. To climb out of crap elo, you need to crush lane (in cs or kills) and then roam and help other lanes. And whatever you do, push a lane..do not kill someone and then back...unless you are really low and don't know where others are......if you can see them, push the lane in......that is the biggest issue with low elo......no one pushes lanes......
